The variant isn’t new , it’s been here since the last lockdown in early November . The government kept it quiet in order for us to spend over Christmas & help the high street shops from going into liquidation, knowing full well Christmas & the new year celebrations would be cancelled.
The guy sounds talented. If he can communicate in 4 languages aside from his native tongue, it shows a level of intelligence . There are many on here that can’t even communicate in their own native language.

Coming from a Greek background, & you may know this being Irish , that family is everything, especially during Christian festivities. Maybe that’s why it’s hit me so hard . But thanks for the positive vibes . To the future
I suppose you have a point . It the first year that I haven’t been together with my daughter since birth . Maybe I’ve been a little overprotective since I lost my father many years ago , and my brother a few years back . It’s probably hit me harder this year , not having family around this year .
Pretty poor Pete . I just had to sell one of my country retreats & my prized Aston Martin.. Had to sack the gardener as well . I think the chauffeur may have to go soon , so things are pretty bleak atm .
I don’t think it the different nationalities that is the problem . I think it has more to do with their motives for being here . Whether it be for political purposes, through loneliness, or just out of pure boredom.
Intelligence has nothing to do with it . I don’t mock Pedro because of his illness, unlike your fellow countrymen. No , I empathise with him & others who’s language is not of a native speaker. What I resent and I’m sure a lot of people agree with their absence , is those who mock others to make themselves feel more important.
That’s the problem with this country . Pointless services .. wedding planners , dog walkers , delivery companies . We used to make steel & coal in this country !
