You did great I couldn’t agree more . I was lucky enough to witness animals born and reared in their natural habitat, eating natural food from the land . The taste of the produce is so different from the stuff we buy from the high street stores . So pardon me if I go for a shoot once a year and sample what food should taste like & hope I won’t get judged as a result.
The slaughtering of the animals for human consumption is not the primary concern here . It’s the manor in which they are kept and reared, which is more inhumane. Crammed chicken dens , other farmyard animals kept out of their natural habitats, fed an unnatural diet and all because the high street store pay the minimal price for the animal , in order to maximise profits. The slaughter of the animal is usually a blessing .
That happens here too . Farmers encourage shoots on their land for the same reasons you mentioned. I remember one year on a shoot in Norfolk . We were told to only shoot skywards , but my friend saw a rabbit and after he fired at it , we heard a big scream . Unknowingly blowing half of the gamekeepers kneecap off ! Needless to say , we were never invited back again !!
You have that right because you live in a society where you have a choice & can substitute protein with non meat supplements. Many countries don’t have that choice .
Who kills for sport ? Fox hunting is a way of controlling animals who invariably kill livestock , not only for their own consumption, but because it’s their instinct. We kill animals , not only for consumption, but because they are pests , not dissimilar to other rodents.
Hunting can mean anything from land sports to fishing and there are many restaurants who trade exclusively on that premise. Do you think that these places sit there a wait for animals to die of natural causes ? “Sorry we can’t serve you tonight , we’re waiting for a COD pandemic “

It’s about a heathy balanced diet and has nothing to do with being veggie or not . I know of a man who is a meat eater , who has never caught a cold or flu in his entire life !
I am a meat eater myself but because I worked and travelled on public transport, I was exposed to seasonal bugs . Not so much as a sneeze in the winter months this year . I know what you mean about the idiot !!
Taking care of ones self has nothing to do with your eating habits . Viruses and bugs can be caught from human interaction, irrespective of ones eating habits .
