I have registered onto the do not call list. It takes a month before it is activated. Call display on the home phone has helped alot. I don't answer 1-800 numbers and any area code numbers from southern Ont. that doesn't have an name to go with it. When I say hello and there is no response by the second hello, I hang up (telemarketor). And they always mispronounce my last name, (Nope he's not home ,goodbye)
Warmed up to -10 c (16F) here today. Can actually work outside without mitts on today. If it gets any warmer I will have to dig out my summer jacket, to wear instead of my parka.
Well, we do have some of what your looking for. The sun shines often, and the sky is blue. The wind can cause some frostbite. But to have the sun shine and warm your face, you might have to be indoors standing in front of a south facing window. But at least you would be warm.
Just laughing at the wimps south of me. -8 and it's to cold to go outside??? -35 C, -30 F here the last 2 mornings. I have been outside all morning. It has warmed up to -25 now.
Maybe more of us should play with them. Just when they think that they have us. Call them on their scam and like you said, "because they are stupid". We don't want them to get to smart.
I don't like receiving an e-mail on fist contact. With me e-mails on the first contact, scream scammer. I only give my e-mail address when I feel comfortable and/or want too. And I will ask first if it is okay with the other person. Till I feel comfortable, I will only write through this site.
What ever you do, don't use their e-mail addresses, till you are ready. If suspect a scammer, I'd ignore them, and see if the mail disappears. If you answer the mail (through this site) ask questions.
Not bad for temp, (-15 c)(4 F),a slight breeze this evening. I'm enjoying this balmy weather. Already more snow on the ground now, than we had all last year. Just 2 and a half months to go, before the snow melts.
This does change the question a bit. I would say no, you are not marrying the family. But you are marrying a member of his/her family. And therefore they will be part of your life somehow, probably a combination of (positive, negative, in a bigway, in a small way). Like wise he/she is marrying into your family.
Now if some of the partner's family have problems with the your relationship, it is their problem, not your's. How you and your partner deal with those family members., is up to you and your partner.
Some introduce themselves. Some don't. Others just respond to threads. Reading your responses to other threads ,you are doing good. Enjoy and the more that participate the better.
I think it depends on the family situation. If the other person has kids, that are living with them. Yes, you are marrying a family. If you and your partner are going to live in the same house, farm yard, or the house next door as your partners parents. It may seem like you are marrying the family. Why? because they are there to watch every move and criticize everything. I have seen marriages desintigrate because of this. Yet I have seen parents welcome the new inlaw with a posittive attitude, and even though the young family lives close by, they mind their own business and keep their criticism to themselves. In that case, no you did not marry the family. But married into the family.
Does anyone have different words for many of the christmas songs played this time of year? Maybe there are some you remember from way back when (childhood). Maybe you just evented some new ones. Have fun.
Here is one That I heard from my school days.
Sung to the carol "We three kings from orient are"
We three kings from orient are We will smoke a rubber cigar It was loaded And exploded _________________________.
Smoke from someone's cigarette drifting into my face or in a closed car, bothers me alot more than it used to. I find I become short of air quicker because of the smoke. There is an asthma problem in the family, so my lungs just may be more sensitive to it.
I have to agree with the Kid, this is a typical Canadian tread, talking about the weather. Does anyone else notice, when it gets to -10/-15 at this time of the year, we pile on the layers of clothes to keep warm. But come Feb/March when it warms up to -10/-15, we strip the snowsuit and parkas and put on a lighter jacket, just to keep from overheating.
-32 this morning. warmed up to -28, add the wind chill. Since I have livestock, I have to work outdoors a few hours every day. Just the eyes are exposed. I am glad the tractor with a heated cab. On days like today, the cattle like huddle out of the wind and appreciate the fresh straw put out for them to lay on.
Wind is blowing from the north today. that only mean one thing it's going to get colder than we had for a while. Once my chores are done outside. (Yes I am outside every day) Today is a good day to find something to do indoors.
From what I heard on the news this evening, The liberal leader is about to be flushed down the toilet. Now if we could only get Steven Harper to fall in the same crapper.
