I like my feelings to be controlled (IRL) I like my space to be controlled..my own personal life. I used to be a stickler for trying to control everything...too me along time to realise this was selfish and wrong..but never did it for selfish reasons....for reasons i wont say here id had my own reasons for needing that control. I have learnt to let it all go I like organisation and routine in my life but im able to let things go too when it counts.
Lets be honest your dealing with people who have spent years evading arrest, fooling the public into thinking they are normal, housing victims for years and torture and killing. I imagine the majority of people will either lie there way through a counsel session simply because they still have appeal processes ongoing.
And written on paper research is alone not good enough, you know full well science comes into this too...which means they would have to be medically tested....for those who agree great but they are nothing more than lab rats...the ones you may have to force because to get a rounder picture of the cause you need pretty much testing on all killers to get a wider scope as to genetical reasons.
Yes you explained the self defence but i feel in doing so youve left gaping holes in your arguement. disarming or disabling takes less force than killing, why in all your compassion can you not do this instead of going straight for killing, even if its a life or death situation. The people who murderers kill didnt have that luxury yet your adamant abt not killing them.
Yes there is a significant time difference yes i know all that... but at the end of the day you make the choice...he state makes the choice...only difference is ur saving you...he state is saving the public.
In all the answers against the death penalty ive seen very very little condolence to the lives of victims.... I think ye are all 1000 years ahead of yer time on this notion of seeking the answers for prevention from killers. the majority are premeditated and deranged ....what makes you think you will seek any cooperarion from these people....and not alone that...it will come with a cost.
I havnt seen one decent reason yet why they should be studied instead of time and energy put into the safety of general public and also the general population of inmates as sadly there are some in there as innocent as you or i.
Watched a programme on Netflix 'I am a killer'. James Robertson killed an inmate for the sole purpose of being 'upgraded' to death row as opposed to close management for years in his current cell.
And these are the people we are so desperate to save
Very few of us are of the opinion that we are better than them...given we all have the capability to kill but only a small percentage see it out. If the taking of life is to be somethig that should be examined and treated and understood on the side of the perpetrator then how much humanity are you showing for the afflicted and their families?
Im not fully supportive of the death penatly given some are sent to die innocent men and women, but i do lean more towards preserving the life of those who show more humanity towards their fellow man and have their life taken than i have towards those who feel they can act as god and pick people off at whim.
Yes i realise there is gross contradiction in what im saving, but i dont have enough faith in rehabilitation to allow for my views to change.
