Oh Bee the lemmings one has been used too lol. I personally like people to be more creative in their downing of me and my views and while I understand that you are really in a way try to save people from these belief systems maybe even as a noble effort you might want to try a different tactic.
I am so glad I dont' watch tv. People have been doing that kind of thing before the net and it goes to show that guys have to be careful too. A lot of psycho chics out there too.
How do you know bee? Have you ever had a hint of faith in a deity? If not how do you know where Daniel or anyone else is coming from. If you are simply coming from facts then and you have not been religious at any time in your experience then it would be correct to say that you can not empathize with those who have some type of faith. After all we are only made up of flesh and bone. Nerve endings and such biological matter there is nothing but the physical as it can't be proven by you. My question to you Al is what about all the things that are inexplicable? I am not even talking deity. Just because someone has a belief doesn't make them a follower and in my family with my grandmother I had to know what I believed. Actually your arguments sound a lot like hers lol.
I am very tired as I said earlier and there are certain attributes that are desired when talking to others online. These are characteristics of people that transcend religion. One of them is kindness and the other is compassion. Those are more effective ways to communicate with others from differing views that and respect for their differences.
Please do not lump me with anyone I refuse to fit in yours or anyone else's box and if you read my above statements then you are now being illogical. Okay so no one has been injurious to you in particular well good. I am not a "follower" of any faith except a strong belief in tolerance, and don't care for bigotry of any kind. Including the bigotry that comes from those who do not believe. People have used that sorry excuse for years but really when it comes down to it even without religion people desire power and control over others and some will extract that in the name of religion. For the record I have one belief system am new to the idea of not following an organized religion so do not know what all I believe. This I do believe is that we are spirit. How that plays out I don't know but it is just my own goofy idea and resonates in my soul. Another idea I hold strongly is that a lot of things in this world including all this arguing is dross. It doesn't matter but learning to care for others online, in person or however is vital to our development or evolution as people. I think that follows more the ideas of Maslow. However when I return to college I hope soon to study all this stuff maybe I will have more educated dribble to throw everyone's way lol.
Look Al I was trying to be funny and while there is sarcasm in there a bit not as much as you perceive I do appreciate your mind. I am not into this discussion okay. I appreciate your realness but like I said a few words on a screen can not paint a story of faith. Maybe a poem paints a story. Who has been mean to you in the past or harsh. You come across like that. I appreciate your views and probably agree with some of them too. I do not consort with Christianity but I am not going to belittle those with faith. If you don't like the faith threads then don't read em Al. Everyone comes from a different reference point and even if you think that you are living very objectively I would imagine that upon examination that a lot of your ideas are very subjective as well. Sometimes in being tired I don't write as clearly as I mean to. I am sorry if you have taken me wrong but I too have a right to my opinion. I wish you no ill will but on the contrary good things in your life.

I don't want to argue with you. You are obviously of a higher intellect than poor little ol me, I am and to be honest with you I am on these forums to joke around and encourage others. Maybe another day. I was a Christian and a lot of those who I care about are. So burn me at the stake for it baby. lol. I enjoy some of your posts but am not in total agreement with you and think you go too far but that is just a friendly opinion. Have a good one. Note though: None of us have all the answers even if we think we do. I am very tired and have no desire to argue with anyone about religion I just stated an appreciation for a person who happens to have faith. I enjoy a lot of different types of people on this forum and in life. Arguments of this type stir up very deep things in others and while I am not afraid of depth it tends to be cyclical. You are not going to change me and I won't change you. I don't want to. Respect for others intellect however whether they think like you are not is something that should be observed on this site. There is no way that someone can judge my mind and what I am capable of by a few words on a screen. For all of us there are areas where we might be brilliant and there are areas of lack. When I see someone lashing out at those who have faith what comes to mind is Who has hurt them in the past. Who used their faith and that faith somehow did damage to that person who is now using their words as a battering ram against others. That however can go the other way. People of faith can ram their beliefs down others throats without love and compassion, even some degree of stupidity and turn others off.
I am not mindless and not religious I just appreciate Max Lucado and his writings and the way he speaks. It is called keeping an open mind. I saw Santa he said he was headed your way to give you back a bit of faith. Nice to meet you. We all have reasons why we believe and in having believes does not mean that we check our minds at the gate.
There are truths everywhere from all different venues. Life principles if a person is open minded enough to see them but when they have become closed and glory in their own intellect to the point of seeing good then there can be a lack of wisdom. One can find a lot of wisdom in the writings of the Bible for instance the Proverbs is full of thing that hold truth even to this day.
Funny we are all humans and this CS Joint ain't no perfect peeps out there. As long as we keep the stick out of our hinies and can laugh and be teachable it will be okay lol.
