"it would not surprise me to find that it is true"
is a nice get out clause...... /b
Good way to put it. I find that I am open to ideas that I never was before. To possibilities and entertaining and even asking others where they come from a bit more. I do seem to be surrounded in friendship by people of faith and value them but admit to feeling a bit more open, free and more myself without the trappings of a particular religion in my life.
Okay I win the most boring thread award lol. I can relate to spiritual people but have not really been around too many people who come out and say they are agnostics. So if you read this and you followed a particular faith but maybe call yourself an Agnostic then tell me what happened? I know that I can't be the only one out there lol. I do not consider Agnostics and Atheists to be the same thing. I take Agnostic from the Greek word to literally "without knowing. Which means there may or may not be a spiritual force out there. For me the Tsunami in Indonesia helped kill my faith. When all those people died that was it for me. I could not tell myself anymore that there was a God that gave a hoot about me or anyone else.
That was a wonderful definition thank you for that. I have been going on my own definition and guess that I don't fit a typical agnostic lol. Thanks again. Also trying to get some feedback from other Agnostics out there.
Without starting any holy or unholy wars out there I am curious how some of you out there define Agnosticism. Not trying to start arguments just trying to learn.
The path to true love is not easy. Just hang in there keep asking people out. Have you tried others sites as well? Do you belong to any social clubs, go to church, have any interest in taking classes that might put in contact with women? Start out being friends with someone first maybe find those with the same interests that you have. Just keep putting yourself out there. Good luck
If a tree falls in the forest and no one hears it fall does it still make a sound. Of course it does because it has happened it is not subjective lol. It is a real occurrence whether someone witnessed it our not lol.Not this nonsense again. The thread does not make sense. What do you mean on which we measure our pain? Do you mean believe in a higher power as a means of an emotional crutch? Not everyone that believes in a higher power does so to have a crutch. Some humans actually just believe. God is not just a concept to those who have faith that is not only exists but is actively participating in the universe that He created. As for me I don't know if He exists. I think something does exist as the universe did not originate from a void. An active God not sure about that if so where the hell is He. Oh that right he is having a margarita right down the street from me at a little Mexican restaurant. He has taken to drinking these days.
When Romanticism is matched with Realism and humor then relationships can happen, but pure idealistic Romanticism is in most instances not going to last in the world we live in. For one thing most of those "romantic urges" is a chemical reaction lol and that only last for about a year and a half. Good news is that once people have been together for a while that a similar chemical reaction although not as intense is going on in those long term relationships. I learned that the hard way when I got divorced about a year ago. I felt shredded by the time it was over as many others out there have too. Full Romantics although a great ideal personally need to not take themselves so seriously lol. Life is too precious to end it even when love has gone. There is always hope that down the road someone will come along. JMO
Aren't words and their connotations wonderful. There are so many nuances to languages. Just as was pointed out earlier how similar words in a sentence can evoke something different. My brain is much tonight however not sure that I should enter the fray lol. The beauty is to find out your own intelligence and recognize how others possibly exhibit theirs.
I have read somewhere sorry can't remember the source, but that there are many types of intelligence. Some are good with language arts, others mathematics, some are good at fixing engines. It is hard to measure intelligence. Einstein supposedly did some goofy things and showed a real lack of common sense, but look at his brilliance. So while we may be intelligent in some areas there are definitely areas or subjects that we could all improve in.
I don't think those of us that have seen your posts on the other threads would take you totally seriously today. Still I admit to having a hole in my eggshell mind and all the yolk had leaked out lol. So the yolks on you.
That is true and I did tell him that I wouldn't talk to him anymore. Nevertheless I did talk to him as I talk to all kinds of people. There are many people all over the world in very desperate situations that are trying to find a way to a better place. I most likely would too if I was in their position.
I have talked to this guy. He is quite bright and according to him having a very hard time and would like to get over to America. He is looking for a wife.
