Morning Drue. Well it wasn't really on purpose. It was kind of one of those things where it just happened for a few seconds I saw Dawn walking towards me the other way lol. Yes it was a very good thing. One of those moments that started a bit of change in me. Funny we can listen to all the saying for years and not really understand them until those moments.
Good thread. Sometimes when we get caught in the loop of berating ourselves internally and externally due to poor self esteem we may not seek others out because if we can't like us after all who else would want to? Had kind of a little epiphany about the self esteem issue. Was extremely sad the beginning of 2008 and got out and started taking a little walk crossing the bridge in my hometown. I imagined that I was walking towards myself. The thought was how would I treat that person? Would I smile at her, show kindness? Yes I would at least acknowledge her. Know it's rather simple illustration but struck me hard that I had to care about myself and in a sense befriend myself before I could anyone else.
Hi Gilly Yeah I love all kinds of movies and if I had got into it soon enough might have been fun to write screen plays or even some type of short films. The Milagro Beanfield War is about poor Mexican Americans in New Mexico I believe and that is all I remember I can look up a synopsis. Another movie that covers different themes and yet has humor was put out by TNT called Crazy from the Heart, it's not a blockbuster but I love it. Yes I enjoyed the comedies from the 1930 and 1940's they don't make actor/actresses like that anymore. Love a lot of Ben Stiller's work as he doesn't take himself too seriously.
Have you seen Life is Beautiful? I know it's rather old and I know it was made by an Italian can't remember his name. Sad movie but very moving.
I haven't been to it Gilly. It's up in Aspen or Vail or one of the rather elite ski resorts but it is pretty well known as a place for Indie films to launch and I believe launch new talent out there. I don't think it is limited to just Americans. Redford has made some great movies such as one called The Milagro Beanfield War. Watched it years ago though so don't remember movie that well other than it was great. lol.
No way Hollywood doesn't represent all the American filmmakers out there Gilly and I am enough Native Red American that I can say that. It isn't fair that it dominates but once you restrict a people just because you don't care for their artistic expression or even that they are powerful in the global sense then it is a type of intolerance. I watch foreign films here and there and a lot of things Hollywood has remade have been taken from other countries.
Have seen everything from suspense, I don't horror films, to some pretty zany Indie films. You have people out there who are quite good and make fun of themselves like Ben Stiller and Steve Buscemi who is popular in both Indie and mainstream. I am sure some of those people who have made in big in Hollywood like Robert Redford are encouraging other filmmakers from all over the globe as he does with the Sundance Film Festival that is held here in Colorado.
I have received a couple of emails from spammers using pics of our boys in uniform. The reason I am bringing it up is that this is a new one to me. I don't know about others but I have a lot of respect for our guys in the military and it affects me when one of them emails me. The spammers are tapping into this just giving others a heads up. You can tell by the way they write. They know just enough English to be dangerous.
Yeah I am going for the hope that he really is a nice guy but learn to be tough in office when the need arises but hopefully his care for his family is genuine.
Blue Cheese is awesome but what a great title for a thread Stress thanks for the laugh lol. Blue or Bleu is wonderful on Cobb Salads, great as a dressing add a little french dressing along with the bleu cheese muwah good lol. Bleu cheese with hot wings.
I retract what I wrote. I have spent too much of my life not liking bits and pieces of me and I am getting too old for that nonsense. I like me the good the bad and the ugly. The light and the shadow makes up who I am my flaws and weakness help make me unique. Not saying that the flaws should take over but it's funny when you start accepting yourself and befriending yourself that is when you can let go of this idea of perfection or having arrived with the letting go the real change starts to occur. Happy day out there to all of you with you imperfections also. lol
You are quite an artisan of words. Such a mix of despair and then hope. Hope has to win though doesn't it? Otherwise why are we all on this site even if it's hope that someone will talk to us recognize our souls as kindreds and sometimes from these places men and women find each other. We live in self created hells out of fear and once we let go of fear we have freedom. Thanks Bodhi enjoy the writings. Seems almost trivial to call them poems really. Am I wrong or have you and some lovely lady found each other on here? What a great thing. Both of your interchanges are quite great after. Nice to see romance blossom if that's what is truly happening. Say hello to Oregon for me I miss home. Six generations of Oregonians in my family and its in my blood can't help it.

Same to you but double woman lol. Love your hair. What is great about these forums is that really its about who we are and the pics are secondary or not even important as you start talking to others.
The pics where I look the youngest are the newest they were taken in July. One was taken last November and the other the summer before that but I still look like a kid with a few extra pounds on her lol.
I am not a friend of yours per se but I find it sad to see anyone driven off these forums. Always liked the idea of visiting Australia and sad to see you go.
