The majority of Buddhists do not worship Him at all. He is considered a sage, a purveyor of transcendent wisdom. Like Jesus in the Koran. There are cults that do worship the man or a transcended form of him, but they are the outliers.
I disbelieve in most of the gods and all of their prophets as most people do, I simply believe in one less god and set of prophets than you.
Have you lived a good life, done what is right, done what was expected of you by parents and society. Never gone too far, not engaged in risky behaviors, filled out all the forms, dotted the "i's" and crossed all the "t's", got the right job, never gone where you were not supposed to go, always got plenty of sleep and never stayed up too late, done what you were told?
