RE: Ladies , Your Husband / Partner was

The good thing about memories is that we have the choice to revisit them ... or not...

RE: Do you think...Over representation....creates division?

thumbs up wave

RE: Ladies , Your Husband / Partner was

I mean he 'was' .... so no longer belongs to my present ... no need to discuss his character ...

RE: Disagreeing on Gods view?

Not kidding ... most Christians have only read the new testament with the 4 gospels of Matthew, Luke etc...

I went to Sunday school a long time ago as a child ... the names of the writings are all different in French. Can't say I remember much!
What struck you the most between the old and new testament books?

RE: Ladies , Your Husband / Partner was

My husband/partner WAS and no longer is ...

RE: Disagreeing on Gods view?

What language were the texts originally written in?
Who translated the texts and picked which texts would be included in the bible?

RE: Do you think...Over representation....creates division?

Cool! cool

RE: Disagreeing on Gods view?

I beg you pardon. You only mentioned your mother doing a lot of reading and so I misunderstood.
You sound well versed in Catholicism/Christianity!
Do the 66 books you talk about relate to any christian religion or only catholicism or no religion in particular?

Nice and sunny here for now ...

RE: Do you think...Over representation....creates division?

Are you implying that anyone who responded to the posts that directly related to women were not responding to the subject with maturity?

RE: Do you think...Over representation....creates division?

Do you have an official date of when 'positive discrimination/diversity quotas' were introduced in the workforce? Just to give a framework to the discussion?

RE: Do you think...Over representation....creates division?

Hey! This must be one of the best pieces you've written! Actually sharing how you feel and why you're starting the subject threads without attacking anyone I thought till I read the last sentence. I take it you don't like my sense of humour laugh

RE: Do you think...Over representation....creates division?

May be you're playing ignorant to what caused the 'diversity quotas' to be introduced in the first place?
If all job interviews were conducted with integrity always I doubt 'diversity quotas' would have needed to be invented in the first place.

It's not really a 'war on white men' ... it's an effort to bring diversity to work places where it wasn't happening naturally because of 'white man privilege'.

It's a pity that like with many things managed by humans the pendulums swings the other way to the extend that what was created to bring balance turns into 'them and us' once again ...

The human race will never cease to amaze me

RE: Do you think...Over representation....creates division?

Nope... did not say anything about you personally... the subject and your ideals are related ...

RE: Do you think...Over representation....creates division?

You wrote individual posts and those were replied to...

On the subject of over representation in general, nobody should be given or not given a job solely on the criteria of gender or race.
If I went for a job on an oil rig I would like to think I wouldn't get the job because I pbysically could not carry out the duties assigned to the job. Not because I'm a woman but because I'm a petite under 5'2 person with limited physical strength. dunno

RE: Do you think...Over representation....creates division?

You could be confusing me suggesting your replies be coherent with your ideals of gender roles you have been writing about for months with ad hominem 'attacks'.

I don't need to fight to give men equal rights on the family courts. It's already happening in the UK and elsewhere.

Not 'trying' to mock though some people do call it a sense of humour laugh

RE: Disagreeing on Gods view?

Thanks for the good wishes...
I very much doubt the majority of people who quote 'the bible' have read the 66 books you mention. Doesn't sound like you have either since you mention your mother being the one who did a lot a reading.

Have a nice day yourself

RE: Disagreeing on Gods view?

@ Gal

It depends who translated and compiled those 66 volumes and for what purpose ...

I was referring to the little book most people know as 'the bible' ...

RE: Disagreeing on Gods view?

The laws of physics, energy and vibration are not opinions.

Practically nobody in the West knows the 'opinion' of God unless they've studied ALL original ancient recorded writings ...
The bible as we know is not 'the word of God' ... it was put together by men within the context of organised religion. Religious dogma is not the word or opinion of God.

We can't agree or disagree with something we don't have clear knowledge of. IMO

RE: Do you think...Over representation....creates division?

How could I forget the martini! doh I obviously was very badly educated! blues

laugh

RE: Do you think...Over representation....creates division?

Apart from making rich people richer ...

RE: Do you think...Over representation....creates division?

confused

RE: Do you think...Over representation....creates division?

What kind of society is that where women have taken over the education and legal system of your country when the whole time they could be in the military or roofing houses or just doing dangerous and difficult jobs while the fathers get custody of the children and stay at home! confused I ask you! Must be the world gone crazy! Sounds like the system needs help help

Seriously... both the mother and the father should be considered for custody of their children. In many cases in fact they have joint custody and work out a suitable schedule for them and the children...

RE: Do you think...Over representation....creates division?

Do you think they should do those jobs in between getting the kids packed lunches, cooking dinners, doing the washing and giving their husband a back rub (according to your vision of the perfect woman partner) or should they dedicate their weekends fir those dangerous and difficult jobs? You know once their partner is home to take over looking after the kids? confused

RE: Do you think...Over representation....creates division?

Interesting reply again!
I haven't got a clue who Gloria Steinem is.

But more importantly is the notion you have that women used the excuse of 'war being a man's world' for not being on the front line when it was rules made by MEN that prevented them from joining during WWI & WWII...

I value men so much that I'm one of those feminists that believe that men and women deserve equal rights and should stop blaming one another for the division between genders and focus on working together and reaching harmony.

RE: Do you think...Over representation....creates division?

Interesting reply ...
I thought you like women in the kitchen cooking the favourite meals of their male partner and children and cleaning the house. How are women (according to your vision) going to do that AND drive lorries the length of England and Scotland?
Your suggestion is a bit incoherent with your vision of 'how women should be'.

RE: Do you think...Over representation....creates division?

Ohhh I totally hear you! I was smiling while writing my comment grin

RE: Do you think...Over representation....creates division?

thumbs up

RE: Do you think...Over representation....creates division?

Yes! Men should stand up and be counted when they father a child!

RE: Do you think...Over representation....creates division?

Do you think there should be more women out there doing those jobs?

RE: Do you think...Over representation....creates division?

I don't know about cycling fish but during WWI AND WWII I believe women were not allowed to enlist... War was a man's world and women weren't invited... although there were a few women pilots ... and women took up all the men's jobs while the men were away at war ...
