Doing what it takes in this direction helps. Some balance and acceptance often comes with knowledge that you did your best to resolve whatever you are unhappy with.
That's exactly what I meant, L., the desire for any personal improvement or achievement comes from being unsatisfied with who you are (or what you have) at this moment, hence being unhappy (= in unsatisfied state of mind) is a necessary ingredient for the motivation and determination.
Why self-acceptance is so important then? Or is it just one of these overrated things designed to comfort ourselves?
I suppose acceptance is important for things we cannot change,
and there is no really such a thing as a full self-acceptance until one is dead.
Curiosity? The kind that is engraved in our DNA...
I found CS being being a great learning curve (for me) because of it's diversity of characters.
Also, I value a couple of friendships which I've made along the way, and I've met some people whom I would never had a chance to meet if not for CS forums.
But what prompted me to ask the OP question:
there are hundreds of members on CS (excluding scammers),
but not such a big group of people is actually interested in participating in forums. Many CSers read forums but don't have this need to participate.
So I was wondering if there is something different about us – forum participants?
But there are also many people who are actively dating(not virtually, but in RL) or are already in a relationship, however still find some kind of attraction in this virtual mingling.
Self-acceptance
