I didn't mean to imply that you don't believe in god. I should have chosen my words more carefully. I just don't believe that god is coming to save me in any way. I'm here, I make decisions for myself, and if something in my life needs to change I change it.
With regard to prophecies, I will use the world trade center as an example. Many people claim that the planes hitting the world trade center fulfilled prophecy. Nostradamus even said: "Fire from the sky" and "Boats gather round". Here is the problem. Fire from the sky has always been part of our history and could mean many things. Meteor, a missile, a plane. Eventually, with man's nature and the nature of the universe, something was eventually going to happen whether it be a natural event such as a meteor, or a man made object such as a missile or plane. When the boats gathered around they did so because it is natural for most humans to come together and help each other in times of tragedy. So the captains or the boats gathered around to help.
Prophecy could be viewed as the external expression of what humans know to be true about themselves, others, and the universe.
Believing in God and believing in the bible as the complete and accurate word of God are different. Many people believe in "God" as a higher power but don't believe that the bible should be followed to the letter as the word of God. If we are to accept the bible as the accurate and complete word of god that should followed, then we would still be stoning non-believers. If we are to accept that the old testament should not be followed, then we are drifting from the belief that the bible is the complete and accurate word of god because we are discounting a portion of his words based on our belief that the rules and teachings of the old testament are not acceptable.
See where things start to fall apart?
I'm not saying that all teachings from the bible are bad, just that by ones own belief system as a Christian, that you can't have contradicting rules.
Good morning Donna. If you are new to the site then I just want to give you a heads up that you are opening up a can of worms. This subject has been addressed and has never been resolved. However, I would be happy to give my views via the forum or via e-mail if you are interested. I research my answers and base them on proven fact. Let me know.
Everyone lies. To not lie is to be perfect and we are not perfect. And I'm sure Boban was just being trying to be funny. Where is Butterfly Polar Cap woman?
How do you like driving? I drove a truck for seven years but got rid of my CDL a few years ago. I enjoyed driving at first but became frustrated with other drivers. (Cars)
I would absolutely relocate for the right woman. I have an education in electrical and mechanical systems and could get a job anywhere that a job was available. But she would have to be special and hopefully she would want me to be just as special.
That's how my cousin got caught. Then he tried to convince his wife that he was trying to find a girlfriend for me because I didn't have internet access at the time.
As I get older I find that I am looking more for a friendship that is a relationship. I still have puppy like urges, (Pardon my being blunt), but they come second. I'm also more willing to take time and build a relationship by putting more thought into the needs and wants of my partner than I used to. Not to say that I never did. I always try to be considerate, I just put more thought into it now. I think I'm on the right track and just need to find someone who does not live 2000 miles away.
I see dating as a process. The first few months should be a time to get to know someone and whether the relationship continues or not, we hopefully learn something about ourselves and how to be more successful the next time.
Excellent post and right to the point. There are fears associated with dating and some are justified. Get to know someone first. I'm sure that both Men and women have had bad experiences with meetings. My worse experience was with a blind date. Brown hair and brown eyes is not enough info.
RE: A sincere question to those who don't believe the Bible is God's Word
