How do you account for all the fulfilled prophecies regarding Jesus in Scripture? That is one of the strongest evidences of it being divinely inspired, and I am curious as to those who are sure Scripture is not inspired think of these prophecies and how they came to that conclusion.

I have been spending many hours trying to find information on questions that I have, so this is a sincere post.

I don't think that these claimed prophecies are evident.

How about unfulfilled prophecies?

Are you saying you don't know of any that were fulfilled? There is a long list. Over 300 are claimed to be, that was my question.

As for unfulfilled prophecies, definitely they are out there. :) But as an example, I can wait for the end of the world to come to pass!

I think that evident prophecies must not be so vague they could be interpreted anyway people like to.

Prophecies must be stated clear before they're happening, so they aren't just interpreted to be prophecies afterwards.

Self-fulfilling prophecies aren't good either.

Lucky guesses have to be ruled out as well.

How would a believer account for all of the UNFULLFILLED prophecies found in the bible? Case in point.

God promises Abram and his descendants all of the land of Canaan. But both history and the bible show that God's promise to Abram was not fulfilled.

I have no doubt in my mind that the prophecies of Jesus are fulfilled. I admit that they haven't all been made clear at this stage but that is part of the Divine plan. Those that are clear are the only hope for this world of no direction!

Not at all. Who looks forward to the end of the world, as it has been painted to be catastrophic? I don't get this statement.

Yes the word of God IS TRUE but over the centuries the translation of the True scriptures have been manipulated to suit those who want us to beleive their translation and the way of doing the word od God is the true and only original translation of the word of God.So in my opinion the bible is corrupt but the word of God is true but manipulated by man.

Because historically it has been demonstrated to be quite difficult to discuss politics or religion when someone is threatening to run you through with a sword...

Surely you're kidding...
I have a prophecy... Someone religious will have a go at me for weighing in here... let's see.
Any prophecy that you allege was fulfilled was surely either vague or coincidental.
Tell me another (any other) thing that you believe with absolutely ZERO evidence (physical or otherwise)!
And then, that you believe so strongly in, that you would be happy to divide the population in pursuit of same.
Religion is delusion at best, divisive, destructive and not required.
Have a great day!

Oh but Conrad you forget that humans are god's pet project (even though he attempted to drown us all) and he gave them "dominion over the earth" to destroy and overpopulate at their leisure. roll eyes

For goodness sake you are jumping to a LOT of conclusions and you don't know me at all. I said I wasn't looking forward to it, not that I WAS. Reread. As for trying to help the world, how do you know how I've spent my life? How in the world did you come to the conclusion I am seeking the easy way out because I am not looking forward to the end of the world?
