I truly believe that the experiences we have throughout our lives are what makes us who we are today. And I am pretty happy with the person I am now. But there are things I did in my young life that I still wish I had the opportunity to make amends for. Not to cleanse my own soul, but to give answers and maybe some closure to those I affected in a bad way.
Definitely the effects of heat are much harder on me. The high summer temps drain all of my energy. I try to get up as early as possible in the day and get any housework or errands done before the hottest part of the day. Then I can rest for a while before time to cook dinner, by then it is starting to cool down some. I hope your doctors have explained to you the importance of maintaining your body's core temperature. If you have to be out in the heat of the day, always wear a hat to keep the sun off your head. A wet towel around your neck helps if you are out doing yard work or bar-b-qing. Another thing I do in the summer is wash my hair and french braid it wet. My hair is very thick so it works as a sort of coolant for my head.
I'm always here for you Cris if you need any advice and I am sure there are things you know to help me as well.
I have never lived with anyone I wasn't married to. But I think it is important for 2 people to spend a lot of time with each other first.....on each others 'turfs'. No matter how much time you spend with someone going places and doing things together, I don't think you truly know that person until you have spent time with their close family and friends, and seen how they live in their own enviroment on a day to day basis. I wouldn't call it 'shacking up' to spend a few days here and there at each others homes, but don't be too hastey to actually move in together.
Like Kingman? That is a tough question. In some ways yes...I have some good friends and some good memories having lived here the past 29 years. I also have some very bad memories. I am looking forward to relocating in the next year now that my children are all grown.
I do get to the valley now and then to visit family there. I was raised in Chandler.
Favorite movie..I have a few...but if I had to name only one....don't laugh.....it is 'Gone with the Wind'. I know....I'm an incurable romantic.
#1 of course are my 4 grown children......as well as my 2 grandchildren.
#2 would be the number of good relationships I have formed with family and friends over the years.
#3 is the success I have had with 2 of the careers I chose. All of my life I have loved working with children. I taught elementary school for several years, working with 'Special Needs' kids. Then I worked for the Juvenile Justice System until my retirement 3 years ago. I also have done many years of volunteer work with youth groups.
Please don't be. I used to sing quite frequently around the house....out in the yard. Until the neighbors filed a complaint and had a new city ordinance written pertaining to noise pollution.
I screamed last night when Leo's neighbor called 911. Seems the moaning they mistook for an injurred coyote was heard all the way from Ontario to Arizona!
