RE: have you any phobias?

sweetowen - My youngest loved the movie It. About 2 years after she first saw that movie, the fear started. She still loves the movie, but can't watch it now.

The human mind can be stranger than fact or fiction.

RE: have you any phobias?

My youngest daughter has suffered with coulrophobia (fear of clowns) since she was little (she is now 24). No known explanation (bad experience, etc); she just is. She hides from clowns when they go by her in a parade and if one walks in her direction, she's liable to deck him/her if they get too close.

RE: have you ever made up a crazy excuse being late for work?

sweetowen - Horses were her (and my) life. She was a trail boss at a riding stable. She took care of 35 horses (clean, groom, tack) and cleaned the barn before the day started. She'd spend 8 hours a day in the saddle, feed the horses, then come home and take care of 15 of our own horses. Did that for 3 years. She was quite a girl.

RE: have you ever made up a crazy excuse being late for work?

My middle daughter used to show up 3 hours early for work every day (6 days a week). When her boss found out, he asked her why she did that, especially since she didn't get paid for those 3 hours. She didn't want him to know how much she loved her job, so she just told him that she had insomnia.

RE: Did you know that you can get your meds much cheaper at.....

And my daughter's migraine meds consisted of 6 pills per month.

RE: Did you know that you can get your meds much cheaper at.....

I was talking to a drug company rep in a doctor's office one day. He told me that my daughter's migraine meds cost about $8 to manufacture a one-month supply (including packaging). I was ticked. We were paying in excess of $400 per month for her migraine meds.

Thank heaven our doctor at the time had an entire storage room of samples given to him by drug companies. When he wanted a patient on a specific med (especially if they had to pay all or even most of the cost themselves), he'd fill a bag with samples whenever he could so you didn't have to pay for them so often.

RE: At what age do men grow up?

The only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys.

My ex always said that he who dies with the most toys wins.

RE: At what age do men grow up?

Some of us (men and women) grow up. Some of us just learn how to behave in public (most of the time).

** Throwing off cloak of invisibility again. **

Wow, Larry! Nice to see so much activity on your thread. Sad to see no new action in a week.

** Donning cloak of invisibility yet again. **

RE: Do you like living in Kentucky?

Actually, I do enjoy the cold and snow. I just happen to like KY and TN better than PA. It's time for a new start for me and I might as well make that start in a place I'll enjoy.

Have a good one!

RE: Do you like living in Kentucky?

I am hoping to relocate to the Edmonton/Bowling Green area at some point. I've always loved that area. It's just one of the many possibilities for me. I'm also considering parts of TN. I've always loved those 2 states and look forward to a nice place in the country to enjoy the rest of my life.

RE: OK gentlemen.....how many of you

It's not just guys who love hats/caps. I think I own 4 pairs of shoes, but have an uncounted number of hats/caps. When I leave the house, I usually have one on with my pony tail hanging out the back. Although I do wear my cowboy hat with my hair down.

RE: any guy's can handle a tomboy?

And once you get to be my age, being a tomboy is a deal breaker it seems. My tomboy daughters (in their 20s) have no trouble attracting men. I'm not sure why older men don't appreciate the likes of me.

RE: The Romance

I do believe in love at first sight. I married my ex exactly 3 weeks after we met. We were together for 23 years. If multiple head injuries (his) hadn't interfered, we'd still be together.

Will it happen for me again? Who knows. It's not probable, but anything is possible.

RE: NON-Posters, in the Woodwork,COME OUT!

No excuses, Larry. I'm just too trusting and wear my heart on my sleeve. But I'm too stupid to give up, so I'll keep my eyes open for him.

I'm way too shy to start a thread. I have enough guts to handle horses that weigh more than a ton, but my guts disappear when it comes to starting a thread. Go figure!

RE: what was the worst date you have ever been on?

I can honestly say I've never had a bad date. But then too, I've had one date in the last 26 years. So maybe I'm due for a bad one.

RE: NON-Posters, in the Woodwork,COME OUT!

Oh Larry. I'd love to find a nice guy and give up my forum addictions. It's been a lot of years (more than 17) since I enjoyed the warmth and closeness of someone special in my life. I'd even throw away my cloak of invisibility for something like that. But after failing to find a nice guy for the last couple years, I've decided to prepare to be alone. I won't like it, but it will be easier on my poor old heart.

Men are like parking spaces. All the good ones are taken, and the rest are handicapped.

RE: NON-Posters, in the Woodwork,COME OUT!

Hi HL! Thanks for the welcome. I'm already addicted to the forums on POF. Don't know if I can handle having the same addiction on two sites. It won't be easy.

RE: NON-Posters, in the Woodwork,COME OUT!

Hi Larry! Young lady? Me? Thanks. I'm blushing.

RE: NON-Posters, in the Woodwork,COME OUT!

Thanks jeepers! I've been on POF for more than a year and am still shy about posting in their forums too. Hermits aren't known for being particularly loquacious. But maybe I'll give it more of a try.

*Throwing off the cloak of invisibility*

I'm new here and probably won't post often. I'm shy.
