RE: Which Internet browser do you use?

I used to try every browser that came out since the Internet first became "public". I'll stick with Firefox. The last one I tried was Chrome and it messed up my entire system. When I first went online I used IE simply because it was the only one available. Then I found Netscape Navigator. I used it until I found Firefox. Won't change again.

RE: Happy Birthday Hotrodlarrys

happy birthday

Happy B-day to a charming young man!

RE: It's a bit much for a first intro email....watcha think peeps..

Let me guess. His profile says he's well educated, has a very nice income, widowed, has teenage child? That's usually how the profiles read. That's generally the only kind of contact I get here, but such is life. They're fun to play head games with to pass the time. If I stay logged in for more than just a few minutes at a time, I sometimes get half a dozen e-mails like that every day. Too funny!

RE: have you got a 'short fuse'?

Takes a lot to get me upset. Having a short fuse requires more energy than I'm willing to expend on things which usually turn out to be trivial.

RE: do you enjoy xmas now as much as when you were a kid?

I enjoy Xmas even more now than when I was young. My enjoyment comes from watching everyone else enjoy themselves. I like putting a smile on people's faces, even strangers. And when the energy from someone's smile travels to bring a sparkle to their eyes, there's no better feeling.

RE: In General, Women like to be.....

This woman likes all of the choices. Some all the time; some on specific occasions. Most of all I want to be appreciated for being a human being. I want to matter. Indifference is the most awful disease anywhere. Don't just look; see. Don't just listen; hear.

RE: Horror Movies

My daughter just bought me a couple DVDs that contain 25 horror movies. Lon Chaney, Boris Karloff, etc. I also have a couple weeks worth of other horror movies. I'm just going to spend the weekend watching movies. Might even have a B-movie marathon.

RE: Whats the best thing you ever eat???

Suet pudding with doblolly. My grandmother used to make it every year for Christmas. Haven't had it in decades. Still get hungry for it.

RE: Alonely Island and a Book

Might be a bit strange, but I wouldn't take a book because I've got too many favorites to pick just one. I'd take supplies to write my own book. I'm a writer at heart.

RE: is there any "Men Rights movement group" in your country?

The fight for men's rights? A natural progression and not totally unexpected. We live in a world that has been controlled by men since the beginning of time. Women are no longer chattel and are free thinkers. Men, the world over, who cannot adapt to this fact are anxious to return to "the old ways", especially in those countries whose entire structure is based on men. It is entirely understandable that men would object to the loss of their absolute power over their environment.

RE: The beauty of drifting

Drifting is great. I'd love to learn. My daughter thinks my best choice for the sport would be American muscle instead of rice burner.

RE: Cold season

My granddaughter brought a cold home the first week of school and we're all still passing it around. I babysit my grandkids and I've got a 2-year old and a 6-month old who are snot-faced and cranky. What a joy!

When I get the chills from cold or flu, I drink a cup of hot Russian tea. It warms you up from the inside out. Great for burning a cold out of your system.

RE: Any Movie Producers Here????

Google is your friend. Lots of references to the process. Here's an article about doing exactly what you want to do. Hope it helps.

RE: Any Movie Producers Here????

It's going to require a lot of creative writing. Either write a book about your life, then let a studio buy the rights to make it into a movie, or learn to write a screenplay and go from there.

RE: Promises

I don't take promises lightly. The promises I make mean something to me and I do everything in my power to keep them. I expect the promises I receive to mean something to the giver too. I guess that's one of my faults: great expectations. Probably why I've lived a life of big dreams and empty promises from others.

RE: If you were to be deprived of one of your senses, which one would you most hate to give up and why??

For me, losing touch would be horrendous. I do a lot of crafts, which require touch. I work with horses, which again requires touch.

After a well-placed horse's hoof to the base of her skull, my middle daughter lost her senses of smell and taste. Without them, she had to remember to eat since she never got hungry. By the same token, she could eat literally anything since she could taste nothing. For her, losing those two senses affected little in her life. She trained horses and needed her sense of touch. She also ended up with decreased sense of touch everywhere. That proved difficult since she couldn't feel when she got cut, so she had to be careful.

RE: Any Idea ?

YouTube Downloader is free. I've used it to download and convert thousands of videos so they play on my computer. Just install it and you're ready to go.

RE: shopzz

I don't worry about money for shopping since I don't like to shop anyway. If I want something but I don't have my own money to buy it, I don't take money from someone else just to get it.

RE: so...............

That would entirely depend on the man and the relationship. My ex and I were married exactly 3 weeks after we met. Were together for 23 years. It worked last time. Might not work next time.

RE: Do You Have Grandkids?

I've got 7 grandkids ranging in age from 10 years down to 6 months. They don't really get treated any differently than my daughters did in terms of discipline, but I do find myself being more tolerant of their mistakes and noisy spells. I enjoy noisy toys and messes now because I don't have to deal with them. I am teaching them the important things in life (just like I did my girls): puddle jumping, catching bugs, counting stars, watching clouds, enjoying the woods, loving animals. Raising my girls aged me, but being a Memaw makes me feel young again. I love it!

Grandkids are a reward for surviving the raising of your own kids.

RE: Why do we do this

If we focus on what is behind us (bad relationships, etc.), we won't be able to see what lies ahead. I don't focus on previous relationships. I have faith in the lessons I've learned and faith in myself to make smarter choices in the future. Each moment of my life has been a learning experience. It's up to me to choose which lessons to absorb. If I focus on the "wrong" people I've allowed into my life (in my efforts to avoid those types again), the "right" people may pass by unnoticed because my eyes are wide shut.

RE: Turn off's !!!

He puts his arm around me while we are walking. I don't mind. But he tries to cop a feel. That move will get him a fat lip or worse. He won't get a chance to do it again, and he won't get a chance to go any further.

The last time that happened, the poor guy had a broken nose. Of course, I was almost 30 years younger than I am now. Don't know if I'd have the energy to get so physical. But I'd still give him a verbal lashing that would leave him wondering what happened.

RE: 1+1= 11 WHATS WRONG WITH THIS?

Larry, did you chase that poor little girl away? I laughed when I read her OP.

RE: Between a rock and a hard place..

The most important thing you can do is not set yourself up for failure. Don't attempt to quit when you will be going through a stressful period (such as meeting a potential new love interest). And if your desire to quit stems from the future meeting, you most likely will not succeed. Trying to stop smoking for someone else rarely works.

RE: I Miss The Little The little things in life...from child hood

When my girls were young, I'd tie a couple big inner tubes together at the end of a 30-foot rope. The girls would each get on a tube. Then I'd get on my best horse, who loved snow, and take off through the snow at a dead run. Great skiing.

RE: I Miss The Little The little things in life...from child hood

I bought my grandkids hulahoops. This summer we spent many evenings catching fireflies in jars. When it was time to go in the house, we'd open the lid and put the jar out in the yard so they could get out again. I'm teaching my grandkids to play jacks.

We're looking forward to raking leaves and jumping in them. Having leaf battles. We have campfires and toast marshmallows and make mountain pies.

Where we lived when my girls were little, the local mom-and-pop store still had penny candy and would put it in those little paper bags for the kids.

Those were the days!

RE: Timing

Congrats on the upcoming addition to your life! Horses are a lot of work (I used to have 15 rescued equines), but it's a labor of love.

RE: Timing

I don't go to any office, Ali. I have a much harder job. I retired when I was 40. I now babysit 3 grandkids at least 12 hours a day. I wish I had something as simple as a 9-5 job!

RE: Timing

My days begin at 4:30 AM and end at about 1 AM.

RE: Really?

Unfortunately, being separated means different things to each of us. For me, the day he abandoned his family he chose to make it permanent. There is no going back. It's over.

I've seen men and women who will "temporarily" leave their SO (and children), party hardy, screw around, have a good time, then come crawling back when their lust for excitement fades. They invariably use the excuse, "It just made me realize how much I love you." I've seen men and women who do this repeatedly.

I fully understand the stigma of simply being separated. I also understand folks' reluctance to get involved with someone who is merely separated. Until 2 people make it clear what being separated means to them, it's best to be cautious.
