at the risk of sounding aloof...I wouldn't need to.....
not at this juncture
I have provided for my future by working hard....and smart....and hopefully, it will provide for me for the rest of my life...and my childrens and my grandchildren's, too.
So, as a citizen....our citizens are entitled to welfare, medicare, medicaid, food stamps, public assistance...and by the SHEER VIRTUE of being a citizen...they deserve it.??????
even though they won't work.......or contribute to society.?????
I can say whatever I please about ancestors....yours or mine.
Folks are always touting that something must be done......
Nothing will be done....Nothing should be done....life is as it is.
Unless America wants anarchy....nothing will change....nothing should change......
I tire of the winless argument....the polarity of the argument does not amaze me......
Being BORN here....does not make this any more YOUR country...than someone that WANTS to live here...no more than living in a house in a neighborhood means you own the neighborhood....or Town....or County...or State that it's in.......
I don't know who the hell punched Christopher Columbus' visa....do you? I'm really not quite certain how many of those top hat wearin' pilgrims came in here "legally".....are you?
"For these people".....Wake up AMERICA......there are people living in this country...that were born and raised here.....that don't work one damn minute of the day.....and live off the fruits of your tax dollars.....
FREE HOUSING......or damn close to it.......FREE GROCERIES.....or damn close to it........FREE CHILD CARE.....FREE HEALTH CARE.........
and don't work to earn ONE PLUG NICKEL...........
Don't think Americans don't have the programs available to them.....many of you wouldn't take it if it were offered.....
What makes you proud? What have you done with your life that makes you beam with pride.
Me? I've done alot of things that make me proud of who I am. I have started and maintained several successful business over the years of my life. My sons are great, upstanding members of society, who will go on to greater things in their lives than I ever dreamed of.
But, the one thing that always causes me swell with pride, almost to the point of tears, is having been a Soldier. Alot of events that I go to, the emcee will say some words honoring our military, and ask us to stand. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard. As I stand and look around, my eyes gleam, my heart swells in my chest, and I look around at the proud veterans around me. I see the parents of current troops and the tears running down their faces and I shake their hands and thank them.
Recently, I was at an event at our Richmond Coliseum....and my father was sitting with some his friends across the Coliseum from us. I looked across at him as I stood to be recognized, tears of pride welling in my eyes, and he stood, too, for me, as a parent of a Vet. And as he caught my eye...he saluted me...and that tear rolled down my face. How proud it made me...for my Dad to recognize me in such a simple way.
So, how about ya'll, friends and neighbors? What makes you proud?
RE: what would you do if you discovered that you're the first man in the world that could get yourself..
Damn sure would....as long as Jennifer Love Hewitt would be the mommy........
