I'd vote once. We should only be allowed to vote once. Is it flawed? Hell, probably so. I don't like your idea of drafting college kids to a Government draft. Nothing would indicate that they have the public interest at heart any more than current politicos. I agree with voting for politicians raises. It could be worse, we could be running from the KGB...LMFAO...(sic...Patriot Act)
Talledega is a good race....so is the Richmond. Charlotte is pretty boring though. (come to think of it...it would be better if maybe I got a hummer during the race....lmfao)
To the esteemend gentleman from Arizona I say this:
It is, in my opinion, that they can not live up to what they initially want to live up to. I'm fairly certain that if given the opportunity, there are tons of politicians that would submit to the American people what they feel to be a fair and equiable health care plan for all. Unfortunately, there are those that are in the pockets of so many people and corporations that the "honest fellas" intentions are squashed and smothered. I don't imagine that there is a majority of politicians,as individuals, that if he/she could say "bring 'em Home" wouldn't issue the order TODAY. Some have ulterior motives (see Halliburton) that cloud their vision as to what is right and what is wrong. I stand by my conviction that most of the politicians get elected on heartfelt emotions and staunch political views. Once they are in, they realize sooner or later that their singular voice MEANS NOTHING. Think back through the annals of time and name some names of ONE PERSON that made a difference. They are few and far between, and there are some politicians on that list , too. In my thinking the political persons on that list more often have had a NEGATIVE impact on society, rather than a postive impact.
How about you qualify your statement to me, Sir. That I "look like an archetypal Republican voter". I'm not offended, but I would like to know just what, exactly, you meant by that.
It is my sincere belief that most politicians go into their job wanting to do a good job and be a good "representative". They fall into quid pro quo....and that's the end of it. They would like to be what they say they are...but they realize that they can't. The red tape and beauracracy prevails always.....
one of my customers is selling old gun parts on eBay...I just sent him an e-mail to see if he has this part. I'll let ya know. He said the he "inherited" two pallet loads of gun parts from his grandfather who was a gunsmith in LA.
