I've been with Quinn Insurance for years now - they're great - the rates are reasonable (with an International License - which was pretty hard to get insured on) and I've never had any issues or quibbles with them - so I'd give them a call and see what rates they are giving for provisional drivers as I've found them to be really good
Yep of course I did - as someone else said aswell - I try and mail/flower someone new everytime I'm on - increase the aul odds ya know And got seriously chatting with todays contact - so fingers crossed and all that!!!
A guy asked god why did you create the dog and god answered because it was an appology to the girls for making you guys
OR
Dogs make the best companions they never argue or complain and no matter what you have to say they keep listening and no matter what you do they pass no judgements
OR
Dog is truely womans best friend, don't believe me?? Well lock your boyfriend and your dog in the boot of your car and 2 hours later open it and see who's happy to see you!
That's wonderful Chuckles! Glad you did such a nice deed!
And that's beautiful about your Daughter - hope you both always have such a close and wonderful relationship!! Just remember that memory when she's a stroppy teenager! hehe and don't forget to remind her then too!
I only remembered myself around 2am but went out to the backgarden to see if there was any chance of spotting any. It was certainly clear enough for me where I am in Dublin - spotted many of them - Some were just slow moving across the sky and others were shooting fantastically - it was a wonderful and beautiful sight!! Am so glad it was clear and I had a chance to watch the wonderful phenomenon!!!
One of the joys of not living in the city. You find alot of that common decency out where you are. The bag bursting event also happened to me at x-mas (think I need to buy better reusable bags!) and again it was when I was crossing a street - no one helped but there were plenty of ugly glares and honking of horns - so I guess that's what made todays event feel extra nice - no honking, no glaring - and an unlikely pair of a Grandfather (approx 75+ if I had to guess) and his 6yr old grandson were the most unlikely pair around that just jumped in and helped out.
Thanks for joining in on the nice thread with your additions.
Thanks for sharing! I can understand not wanting to publicly broadcast all that you do. I didn't start this thread for us all to boast about the good things that we do. I just felt there was alot of negativity happening on here lately and was hoping that if we all listed something positive we might all see the good in eachother again.
I'm glad you recieved some nice compliments from folks on here Your a lovely lady so I'm sure they are well deserved!
My good deed this week was that I've spent hours every day chatting online to a friend (we're in different countries but we did grow up together as kids) who has lost their Mom. As I said I've spent hours with her whenever she is on and I've gone through every memory and good moment that I spent with her and her Mom and family helping her to remember the good times through a dark and horrible time. After losing my mom 4 years ago I know how much this can help. So I feel that this has been one of my good deeds.
And a good deed that was done for me was today in the shopping centre car park the bottom of my shopping bag went to pieces and an elderly gentleman and his grandson helped me pick it all up and carry it to the car - which was really lovely as I'd crammed way too much shopping into the bag and it decided to burst in the middle of the main road through the carpark and cars were backed up waiting for us to move. It was really lovely of them to immediately stop and give some help.
There seems to be alot of negativity around here these days. So I am starting this thread to hopefully put some niceness back into the forums. It was always such a lovely place to visit and everyone had such nice fun banter - so lets all see if we can get back to this. So I will start us off.
In light of all the negativity this week - Can we all name a good deed that we ourselves did this week - or something nice that we said to someone. Or, even - did someone do some good did for you this week or say something to you that really made you feel good.
Go to stumbleupon.com - its a great website - you create an account (free and easy I promise) and put in your interests and it shuffles the whole internet page by page for you - its facinating and amazing some of the things it leads you to. It's gotten me through hours and hours of boredom - and you always have great factoids and webpages to share around aswell. Hopefully this might relieve some of your boredom!
I think I'll be joining you. I've just caught up on the earlier threat and I'm actually sickened by so much that was said. I repeatedly said over and over that I didn't agree with him or what he did - that I was just stating different opinions and out of nowhere myself, my character and everything to do with me was attacked repeatedly and viciously. I was actually shocked at the post that one user left which was reported and removed. I agree I can have different opinions to alot of people in life but never once did I say anything offensive or anything to a single user here and to read what that user said about me when she doesnt even know me was shocking.
Thank you and anyone else who stood up for me in any way. I wish I could say more right now but I am shocked and sicked to my core at the way that thread went.
Very good point Sky - I was just actually wondering that myself and was going to say so at the end. She certainly didn't want herself named but had no problem jumping up with someone elses as the 3rd word in her statement she didn't want her details posted.
