I am studying Italian so I did write to him in Italian too besides English on the IM and he would take the "normal amount of time" answering in English but when it came to Italian he was just taking so long (I would guees he was using an on line translator).
To me you are totally right, a particular food can be favorite for some but for others and I have been fortunate too to have spent some time on those countries that you have mentioned and in a few others more Italy included and if you liked pizza in USA you will love it in Italy.

Because, he painted in color when his life was black! but not always. One of his master piece "Potato eaters" is dark, impressive! Which happens to be my favourite!
Part of my working is with alternative energies and yes, we install some paks with solar panels and lately some with vacuum tubes, specially for home heating water in rural areas(Mexico).
In Turkey it is fascinanting to see so many solar panels on the roof of the houses or buildings, every where.
In my place, for one rural family we did install the vacuum tubes for water and oil heating this last one to heat a solar cooker (both systems are apart), to process fruits and they can use the same equipment to heat the water for the shower and kitchen needs most of the year(semidesert place lots of sunshine, litle rain)
