Yes I do this all the time. As been said, to show interest, to hold interest, to gage anothers meanings or intentions. A sort of shrug with the eyes and eyebrows is an end or dismissle of the verbal contact. Not breaking eye contact is a not backing down or not being intimidated as well as a sign of interest in the conversation or the speaker themselves. Most of us use eye contact along with other facial movements to express ourselves. My children learned very young how to read my face and interpret my wishes. Some people such as autistic and aspergers I beleive cannot read faces and have trouble in interrpreting peoples feelings therefore giving rise to breakdown in communication.
Yes I have noticed that and all credit to you. I try to do the same sometimes.
As to free speech z, I don't think starting one thread a day each would limit anyones free speech. After all we can all post as many times as we wish in our own and others threads. I have missed some of your pearls of wisdom in the deluge of new threads and that is my loss.
I don't disagree with debs, I did say it may be nice to have a less fragmented view, which may happen if there were not quite so many threads repeated so soon. Also I have said before I enjoy both views and a lot of the babble.
Each person could only start one thread per day. Would not want to put any restriction on the number of times a person can post a day.........well.....
Yes I agree your point about not all threads being constructive, did say at the top that I do enjoy the fun threads too. Poetry is something I love to see and read too and I like to say if something particularly touches me.
Is that an excuse to multiple thread start, just to fill a page?
Maybe it would be better to see all the different posters in a page and not all one posters threads in a page, may be more interesting mix for everyone.
Exactly my point, sorry in all the threads I couldn't find where suggested before, but sure your right and that not many are original or even thought out. It's as if people make statements in a new thread, then instead of debating or discussing, move right off and make another statement! Not really constructive in anyway, shape or form.
I have been thinking maybe it would be a good idea to allow each person only one new thread per day.
There are only a very few people who post multiple thoughtful or interesting threads (in my opinion) each day.
I wonder if it may make us more careful posting a thread if there was a one a day restriction?
Don't make the mistake of thinking I mean always deep and meaningful threads, because some of the trivial ones are so entertaining and all the threads show something of the personality of the thread starters and the posters. Maybe it would even encourage new posters to join us in the forums.
Also because of the huge volume of new threads each day, some get lost while I sleep and work and I miss so many. I am constantly looking back now to find some interesting threads that may just have been lost in the avalanches. Do you find this? Take care, Siren
Strangely naive I would have thought that anyone would not have realised that e.mails would be monitored going to sensitive zones. It is nothing new, through all conflicts mail has been censored down the years. take care Siren
Hey JimEee, my garden gate was poetic licence only. Have not had one for years. Crowded rooms can be the lonliest places if your head is in a bad place. We all get carried away at times, it shows we are human. Many of us are not very close to neighbours these day, mine tend to come and go. The ones I know I don't see very often as I'm at work or they are. But it is friends I rely on more.
One New Thread Per Person Per Day?
Fair comment as always Ocee, thank you for not stabbing, can I have it back now please?
