For Mary Magdalene

Embedded image from another site

In the final hours
under pale gray sky
she stands below the cross
among all those who shared her cry.

He had taken from her
demons to and fro disdain
leaving larger stones of love
turning them into jewels to ease the pain.

Now on that sacred Friday
as the sun set in the West
Her Master is now asleep
and so divinely rests.

Heart in sorrow in sighing chest
Mary Magdalene trembling so did keep
with heavy crying eyes
time slow did slumber creep.

On that third day
Her Master rose to reap
reborn as an eagle leaving the nest
the Master is no longer asleep!

Go, Mary! spread your tender voice
shout in joy love and how
He has risen we all rejoice
you a beloved disciple then and now...

Black Poem

Dream of love
All the colors
Absence of color
Black and white
Their beauty is absolute
Perfect harmony

What would the stars do
If the nights were not black
Streetlights would be lacking
Diamonds and fireflies
Need the black

A funeral passes by
Black cars and black hearses
Draped in fading flowers
The color of death
I think in black
Death should be
The color of sunset

My lover is black
She says
True love is or it ain't
Thin love is no love at all
To love and be loved
Is everything
It makes your soul
Climb out from its hiding place

Black is not sad
Bright colors depress me
They are empty
Black is poetic
It's how I imagine
The poet
Dressed in black...

I Write

I write colored clouds
ellipses, reddened
to temper the heart

I write purple cirrus
orange-red dawns
and golden sunsets

The silver moon
of the heavenly peach
caught in green branches

I write the rain
the flames of love
and the song of lovers...

Love and Money

Embedded image from another site

Perhaps love is like a flower
it will only open
when the time is right
some say beauty is a whore
so give her money so slight!

If you were given millions of dollars
would you turn away
someone you truly loved?
or would you refuse
no regrets, no confuse?

Maybe to an extent
one can be young
and without money
sometimes to have a woman
we need it with lot's of honey!

But if a woman
wants me just for money
I would say, "honey"
"take your money and throw it high
and receive your love from the sky!

Native American Love Poem

Embedded image from another site

I walk to you
softly upon this earth
among things great and small
remembering one great Spirit
created us all...

You walk in beauty
my eyes always seeking
the red and purple sunset
beholding in your eyes
pastel and calico I can't forget...

I dance for you at dawn
upon our bed of evening light
riding on a dark cloud
praying for your female rain
in a house of pollen I chant out loud...

Hey yaw, hey yaw

In my house of evening twilight
in our dreams made of dark clouds
you in your moccasins of dark clouds
dance your way to me
as you chant for me out loud...

Hey yaw, hey yaw

Simply Put

Embedded image from another site

Simply put
I want you
any way your
gorgeous mind
can concoct it...

Grab my hand
force me
if the mood
strikes you...

Or you may lure me
seduce me if that
pleases you
better...

I like being
surprised
love super size..

I want you
to want me
to enter you..

I want you
overcome by passion
that it predicts
actions...

Simply put
I want you
to want me

to kiss
the Persian silk
of your skin
smooth as a Nubian Pearl...

Simple as that...

Morning Star (Angel of light)

Embedded image from another site

What is she
to me?
she shines by Mars
as the morning
and evening stars...

Inspiration for poetry
the fire in my hearth
she is a magician I know
an enchantress
moonlight on my window...

Come forth feathered dragon
morning star rise
I face to confront my sin
my fiery happiness
let the dream begin...

Morning star
to evening star
Winter starlight fell
sparks from your black hair
for even Lucifer was an angel...

Dixie Springtime....

Embedded image from another site

Springtime and the flowers are blooming
Southern Mississippi lives one more day
beach tourists and gamblers are coming
the seagulls are singing as I drift away...

Her face looks another tear older
from faithless lovers that used her and ran
some nights she looks like an angel
always willing to love you again...

Springtime and lovers are blooming
seeking that last chance romance
red roses and walks under the stars
I write this for her and offer her this dance...

I give her this dance
so she won't feel forsaken
I'll love her with all of her faults
she always gave more than she's taken...

Springtime and my lady is in waiting
the lover's don't know quite what to say
never really getting all that they wanted
they just come and then run away...

Ion Bonding

Embedded image from another site

To her
I bond,
it is ancient
older than the planet...

Let us drink
of one cup,
share from
the same loaf of bread...

Why do we
play hide and seek?
let us
find each other...

Shall we
share a bond
that not even death
would violate?

No more chains
that hold me to the ground,
chains that
keep me solidly bound...

Those chains
that shield
my love, my heart,
chains only our heart can yield...

For the elephants

Embedded image from another site

Elders tell the story
that somewhere in Africa
the elephants have a secret place
where they go to lie down
releasing the burden
of their wrinkled grey bodies
and soar away
unburdened, spirits lightened...

Elephants love reunions
recognizing each other
after years of separation
greeting the other with joy
ears flapping
trunks entwined...

What is life for an elephant
in a circus?
a life in chains
forced to do tricks
prodded by a sharpened rod
picture a human in chains
would they feel the pain?
save sunder the elephant in chains...

The want

Embedded image from another site

Such a crowded bus today
mindless chaotic botanical
I take the first seat available
I wanted to sit
next to the beautiful ebony lady
the smell of her perfume
leaving me spellbound...

Next to me the babbling veteran
crashing against my legs
he say's he's an architect
I smell the alcohol
an instant choking silence...

In between the confusion and chatting
and difficulty breathing
I wanted to share my genes
with the beautiful ebony lady
and jump out of the pool
that was drowning me..

The face of love..

Embedded image from another site

Tonight I have seen
the face of love itself
love is here
it is there
love reign o'er me...

I have searched
love hurts
now love heals
it gathers
it revives...

I see new love
love keeps me alive
it enchants me
renews me
excites me...

I see her
I see the face of love
the music all around her
I pray with the angels
may I wed this face of love
make her my queen
may we shelter...
