Return

Return to me
under cover of night
while the city sleeps
beneath starstruck sky...

Come to me
summer is here
igniting old memories
I am waiting...

Waiting at the airport
watching birthing clouds
I have new poetry to show you
words that inspire eternity...

Run to me
strolling silent footsteps
your face never fades
I greet you with gladness...

Dance to me
we two become as one
our souls waltz
remembering past summers...

Return to harvest fields
to my home without a number
and if you can't find me
I will simply dream you...

Tale of Love and Trust

Once was a man
who had gift of trust
believed in many things
trusted those around him...

One rainy day
heart and soul died
nothing but false hope
and broken dreams...

Almost dead he realized
without love and trust
there is nothing
but bland daily life...

He asked God
to restore belief and trust
so he could love again
to win some woman's heart...

He realized he must
find a lover
and create love
instead of searching for love...

God told the man
the path of love
goes through belief
goes through trust

Goes back to belief
and more trust
then maybe
you can love again...

Texas...

Last night
from the night
I heard my suitcase
call me by name...

It was your voice
all so familiar
maybe i dreamed
of you in Texas...

In my dream
I caressed your face
with the back of my hand
and smelled your long black hair...

I saw the stars flicker
in your dark hispanic eyes
was it a dream?
a dream inside of you?

I saw you Maria
I heard your sigh
I felt warm damp sheets
wrapped all around us...

I was lost in your embrace
I heard you catch your breath
felt your heart beat next to mine
then heard you sigh again...

All in a dream
in Texas...

Sleepless

Late night
wide awake
3:30AM
knows all
my secrets...

Perhaps insomnia
is a refuge
my oasis
suffer darkly
as a refugee...

Daybreak hours
onward creep
shred of sleep
all but wavers
in spirit wind...

Tonight beautiful
beckoning bed
did not promise
beautiful dreams
only pillow thoughts...

Rays of Light

Ever so dazzling
that we should meet,
come to me as whitest light
ending this shadowy life,
angel from forever night...

Lovely lady shining bright,
I open window with you in sight,
Distant rainbow filters though moonlight,
rolling thunder with all it's might
dark angel come and hold me tight...

Holding night sky in my hand,
searching for another endless night,
she flows to me across the sand,
cloaked in darkness from pale moonlight,
hypnotizing me in rays of light...

Dazzling supernova ever so bright,
ribbons of moonlight sparkle her hair,
faraway music to my delight,
a trio of moon fairies dancing in mid air,
she rides a comets tail bathed in moonlight...

All around her waves of light,
bringing hope of morning bright,
giving this blind man back his sight,
she'll tell me stories from her past,
bringing them to me in rays of light...

May in December Romance...

She is
the month
of May
I am
December...

We met
one day
she became
a flaming
ember...

She is
the morning
I am
the twilight
sky...

She is
flower given
in springtime
vastness swims
in her eyes...

I'm lucky
luck can be
so many
younger guys
she chose me...

3 AM

Woman,
it is 3 AM
where are you?

Do you know
what it is like
stretched across a bed

alone at 3 AM
waiting for you
staring at the moon?

The clock ticks,
the moon rolls
over rooftops and disappears...

I drive to look for you,
nothing but closed signs
in windows with faceless mannequins...

Red lights and stop signs,
basket people about,
still no you...

So, I text you and no reply,
I drove back home
to greet the god of wine...

A bottle later,
still no you...

Angst(Unbalance)

I saw you one night,
thought it was the real you,
it doesn't matter now
either way I'm still alone...

Then we touched palms,
each of us gave
a sensual map of our world,
clasping to the end of time...

The ensuing darkness,
you were the rabbit at the dog track,
elusive and deceptive
running around in circles...

Sleep only teases,
flame of unlit candle,
surreal dreams of love
became a matchstick dipped in water...

To survive, I said "I love you."
you said, "I love you too."
Perhaps just a culling song,
the deadliest of lullabies...

Separated by the hours of darkness,
the ceiling becomes the pale sky,
you milked the moonless night,
I became the crow fettered in rain...

Wordless and timeless the death of daylight,
thrown into an existence of love,
all with the ambiguity of Kirkegaard,
two saddled horses taken to a dry pond...

In this chapter of life and love,
you killed the romantic hero,
in the very first pages,
the destruction of I and thou...

There once was a love poem,
before the grass grew brown and withered,
the longing has not diminished,
just flowers and rainbows mixed with blackened storm clouds...

Suenos de Amor

There was a woman
nightmare of mine,
dead asleep within me
discarded like a dead flower...

A drought divides us
from the flames of my spine,
to her fiery vertebrae
lies barren soil...

Love comes and goes like the night
fleeing with a slice of the soul,
often coming to ransack
what is left of the heart...

Sometimes it is a candle flame
the bright sun in the sky,
only rising to falter
to be reborn another day...

An estranged flower picked from random bush
mockingbird trickster by hand of goddess,
announcing presence to the heart
often not truly seen...

With words of pollen spread to wind
used to heal most restless soul,
bitten deep by faithless love
I replant in fertile soil...

I whisper at night into the dark
before crossing sleeps silent gate,
soon I will be in the arms of another
whose name I not yet know...

She will bring to me
songs of childhood dreams,
upon sheets of milk white silk
and passion will open her thighs...

Triangle

I love her
she's with him,
he makes three.
When she kisses him
who does she see?

She may see two,
maybe sometimes me,
when there is three
can't love two...

Just left of center,
inside right triangle,
I am one,
a number in this all
blowing out my unlit candle...

Sometimes she loves me
as she embraces him.
How did this begin?
Can love ever be?
Will this carnival ever end?

I want to be first,
her one and only lover.
No matter what I do,
I remain at number two,
a star beneath the moon...

Cornered

I am cornered
by the solemn
barrier of evening.
Somewhere, somebody
is bathed in happiness...

Silenced by fatigue,
console me birthing clouds,
breathe into my deepest dreams
a distant dream different from death...

A woman comes and goes
coming to touch
the waiting years of a man...

Recalling her long black hair,
I count the fingers of the setting sun.
My eyes choke for the moon of her lips,
I resemble the shadow of a body,
a shadow buried yesterday facing the south,
seeking without finding a path...

Laugh loudly shadow,
maybe for an instant
she loved you.
Forgetting her does exist,
even though it is like
walking over hot coals...

I will drive down
to the grocery store,
where the meat
of my memories
hangs in strips
in the cooler...

Then go home
and remember
the blind wind
once whispered
from her lips...

Blindfold

I wanted love
she desired gold,
love is priceless
gold is cold...

She was blind...

Her gold
cannot see
touch or feel
powerless to cheer..

Gold has no soul..

Perhaps I saw
so desperately,
picture of her
I wanted to see...

A falling star...

I gave true
poetry of feelings,
sunlight on morning dew,
she turned out to be

A horrible love poem...
