The Wedding Song

Trust your heart and take my open hand
Love me as if there was no tomorrow
I am here to be your loyal friend
We'll be blessed together 'til the end
Lonely stars our joy will dream to borrow

Time is right to build our common dream
Don't be swayed by whispers from the past
Truth be told we make a perfect team
And as long as love is held supreme
We'll stand tall and surely laugh the last

We both know that this is real love
Only you have touched my soul so deep
Sweet and kind and gentle as a dove
You've been sent like angel from above
I'd awake and pause to watch you sleep

Trust your heart and take my open hand
Love me as if there was no tomorrow
I am here to be your loyal friend
We'll be blessed together 'til the end
Lonely stars our joy will dream to borrow

The Famous Last Words

Listen listen listen
Would you stop so that I can talk
If you need to let off some steam
Take a drive or go out for a walk
In the years we have been together
Many issues have come and gone
Still you're having hard time with a concept
That I'm neither your slave nor your clone
So then why is it suddenly shocking
And you act so full of surprise
To have lost the respect im my eyes
After ridicule scolding and mocking
I just want to be free and at peace

An Herbal Tea

I just first sampled a healthy tea
Acknowleged to be the cat's meaw
It reeks of grass and tastes like crap
And it makes one feel like a cow

SOMEWHERE

Somewhere in a wild where hunter kills
A bird cries our for it's mate
The sun is setting behind the hills
And it's never been gone so late
Somewhere in the heavens an angel sings
And unless being sent by the Lord
He may not interfere in earthly things
And raise his bow or his sword
Somewhere in my heart tender longings yet
Still endure through the pain and stress
For a sweetheart I have not met
And the one I may not posess

The Options

To forgive,to move on,to shut down in fear
Or to leave for another place
It's all in the stories we get to hear
And the options we get to face
Depending upon what we think is right
A different path will unfold
Some awaits destiny dazzling and bright
While others so bitter and cold
Yet if we neglect to learn from the past
Do nothing but whine and complain
Life will insist that we simply must
And teach us again and again

The Perfect Pick

Would you like to hear a song
I just finished it today
It is such a lovely song
Grab a chair while I play

It's been hidden for a while
Waiting shrouded in a haze
It may even help you smile
When entangled in a maze

It won't hit you like a gong
In a land of broken deals
Where they sell you for a song
In the name of empty thrills

It won't send you running wild
Trying each and every way
It will soothe your inner child
And is mild for every day

Would you like to hear my song
It will help you win the race
It will keep you going strong
'Til you reach a better place

Would you like to hear this song.

About this poem:
First published some years ago on a major poetry site,
this little piece made their representative book/cd set
for that year. A slow, bluesy tune goes with it
when it's performed.

Why Ask Why.

Why has our love left us so soon
Not unlike a driving summer rain
Having once been perfectly in tune
We are now learning to refrain
Why has our love left us so soon
Recently I run into old friend
Full of unsolisited advice
Lately it's been somewhat of a trend
Then suddenly I came to realize
Why has our love left us so soon
Free again to choose and to belong
Thinking it is best if we forget
Only now and then they'll play our song
Causing fleeting moment of regret
Why has our love left us so soon
