For Medicinal Purposes

A little worry, a little stress
A little relief was what I sought
And so I went with my best guess
And opened the single malt I bought.

A couple jiggers and feeling better
A couple more and now I'm fine.
Nerves all soothed by texted letter
A very good evening now is mine.

And I might wake up with my head a mess
But right now I just don't give a damn.
And if I don't make sense, then I digress
I'm not as think as you drunk I am.

Hard Time

Hard time never seems to end
It weighs upon you, pressing in.
It's opressive and suffocating
No thoughts or dreams placating.
Reality sinking in.

You know the release date
And you know you won't be late
But it's not coming soon
Not soon enough one moon
And there's nothing but wait

A week in the hole now
Thirty minutes shave and shower
Then back, back to isolation
Must think, mindful creation.
Will it give me power?

This time will end, too
As all time must do.
My thoughts aren't reserved
There's no hard time I've served
Like time now waiting for you.

Winds of Change

The winds of change blow through.
Our lives are never static.
And though our nature savors something new,
We shrink from what's chaotic.

Yet, though our lives are filled with change
Each fork has but two roads.
And in binary we can arrange
To manage all our loads.

Accept or change the choices are
No more nor less than that.
No situation too bizarre
To leave us broken, flat.

For always choice is ours to make.
Accept what we don't wish to change,
Or change what we refuse to take.
These choices shouldn't feel strange.

When we accept we must embrace
What choices we have made.
If change we choose, then we must face
Our challenge unafraid.

But make the choice and tarry not.
For choice is our release.
And always safely keep this thought.
The winds of change bring peace.

About this poem:
Change or Accept - the two choices in every situation - and the only two choices, fundamentally. Abject misery is the result of being unwilling to make the choice and then embrace and face it.

Alpha Love

Eyes as pools of liquid love
The chemistry ignites a fire.
First gently like a cooing dove
Slowly flames lick higher.
Whispered words sweet and clear
Melodic lyrics in the mind
Caress the lady's tender ear
And she responds in kind.
Smiling sweetness radiates
As hands reach out and touch
And nervous bliss each touch creates
So wondrous and so much.
Lips meet lips and tongue tips dance
Arms wrap as they embrace
Rising heat with every glance
As soft lips brush her face.
And hands slide up to touch bare skin
Their bodies pressed as one.
And so their tango starts to play;
Their dance has just begun.
Exploring, loving, slow and sweet
As time, itself stands still
More and more their flesh will meet
As hearts with passion fill.
No rush, my love, for this first time
But once for two will come.
And this body language poet's rhyme
Is love plus lovers' sum.
When naked morning light shall glow
And passion spent is sated.
Two lovers' hearts shall surely know
Their souls in bond have mated.

The Magician

I drift through seas of wild dreams
Life's my favorite toy.
And I see things no other sees
Or ever can enjoy.
A mystic world is mine to savor
Magic gives me call.
And I travel far to other worlds
I dare not recall.
I ride the wild unicorn
A free and mighty steed
Ten thousand mighty warriors
Vowed themselves for me to lead
We charged upon a battleground
In otherworld time
To fight for all that's sacred
And collect that which is mine.
Now the power's mine to use.
I'll try to use it well
But in my odd reality,
Only time will tell.
Now they locked me up inside this place
They try to change my mind.
They look inside my head
But can't explain the things they find
And when their footsteps echo
Down those antiseptic halls
I laugh because my magic takes me
Far beyond their walls.

No Miracles

A miracle is rare you say
Perhaps they don't exist.
Such a thing is dreamers play
Wise skeptics do insist.

And yet there still is wonder
At things we can't explain.
But no miracles to ponder
For such folly is in vain.

Surrounding us ubiquitous, unhidden
But we recognize them not.
And dare not go unbidden
Via foreign lanes of thought

And never stop to think or ask
How all we know and see.
Is synaptic junctions at their task
And is all that we may be.

From gurgling sounds to fine syntax
And more we know as time does lapse.
Inquisitive our nature asks
Could be a miracle perhaps?
