Sinister Happenings.

It's cold and dark, a frightful night
There's cause for worry and fear
Check under the bed; leave on the light
There's danger lurking oh so near.
We've enemies that prowl and lurk
And dwell in places high.
Disasters now, they are no quirk.
And we're all gonna die.
There's evilness afoot, you see
Conspiracies galore.
One world order is soon to be
They're just outside your door.
So put the tinfoil in your hat.
Lock doors and windows, too.
Youtube links will show you that
They're coming now for you.
The governments are in cahoots
They want you poor and broke
And if you're quaking in your boots
You know that it's no joke.
If you see Sarah Palin run
It's sure as hell you betcha.
There's nowhere safe under the sun
Illuminati's gonna getcha!

Misery Loves Company

Embedded image from another site

I'm misery, how do you do.
I've no soul and no reflection.
And though I'll paint your world blue
You'll love my dark complexion.

Listen now and look at me
I've tales of woe and pain.
In ugliness, I find my glee
So please let me explain.

I want to share my hopelessness
A cloud of gloom above.
Dishonestly I won't confess
But company is all I love.

I've nothing nice to ever say
I'm brooding, dark and bitter
But when it comes to nastiness
I'll babble all atwitter.

Yes, look at me and see my view
As I wallow in my mire
And fingerpaint my filth on you
For it's all my heart's desire.

I need to drag you down with me
I cannot stand your light.
I'll snuff it out with vile glee
Till days are black as night.

I must persist till you begin
To you join me in your tears.
And I won't rest until I'm in
A world of hopeless peers.

The Short Death

Splendor short lived set the standard
Parting again established the pain.
Re-uniting soon sets the pace.
A pace to somehow keep us sane.

life is changing before our eyes.
Never again to be what we knew
And the trials we face we must embrace
They combine the me and the you.

So for a while we have space
A lonely and requisite space.
That keeps things aright as they must be
''Til we're both living in the same place.

It's coming, my love, so help me, God.
It's coming as sure as I breathe.
There's no one like you in the world for me
It's a core system of my belief.

Our time is coming and very soon
And nothing can thwart us tomorrow
So all we must do is stick to our guns
And weather short terms of sweet sorrow.

Serenade of Stars

We are a mystery in a mysterious universe.
We travel as stars through the night
Burning, shining, flaming, shooting bright
Energy in space and beauty in flight.
Divine art through cosmic verse.

Your gravitational pull I cannot resist
And as I wander through the night
I can stray not left nor right
And ever before me you are in my sight
Toward you unable to cease or desist.

And so in concentric circles, nearer we draw
Each ellipse much closer and tight
Dancing cosmically throughout the night
Energy joining and feeling so right
Merging united in mutual awe.

Coffee?

Joyful laughter in the air
The door closes behind us
Switch flicked on
Inside light breaks the darkness
Late night coffee on the menu
Fingers lingering before separating
Shy glancing smiles
Tentative step toward the kitchen
Fingers touching once more
Pulling together
Joining easily relaxed
Lips meeting again
Dancing warm tips touching
And twirling
And swirling
Arms embrace, longing
Aching needs expressed
Gentle touches to hair and ears
Arm encirles waist
Hand stroking and feathering
Kisses deepening
Breathing deepening
Coffee forgotten

On the sofa, minutes pass
Becoming hours
Outside, light breaks the darkness
Dim illumination through shades
Silk and cotton colors
Hardwood floor patchwork
Hair like blown down wheat
Wet and streaked
Furniture rearranged
Eyes aflutter
Limbs akimbo
Tangled and mixed
Hushed whispers
Cooing sounds
Warmth and comfort
Arms embrace, satisfied
Intimate secrets expressed
Gentle touches to hair and ears
Arm encircles waist
Hands stroking and feathering
Kisses light and gentle
Breathing easily
Coffee remembered

Whiner's Blues

You say that no one loves me.
You whine that they don't care.
Your heart is just a broken mess
Your feelings all laid bare.

The poor me just goes pouring out
Why would love be so unfair.
But unfair to you there is no doubt,
Your love, she doesn't care.

You gave to her all that you had
Although it wasn't much.
And now you feel so very bad
To be treated just as such.

You feel all used and tossed aside.
No longer will you even chat.
Your eyes all red with tears they cried.
Could you be unlovable as that?

So there you're sitting all alone
Eating in the diner
Crying in your empty beer
'Cause no one loves a whiner.

Freedom of Speech

We're all quite blessed to be so free
And share our points of view.
We're free to speak our minds and thoughts
The same as others do.

We're free to raise another's spirits
Or malign them as we choose.
We're free to sing of joyful thoughts
We're free to sing the blues.

We're free to focus on the good
Or dwell on what we hate.
We're free to praise a noble act
Or sternly castigate.

We're free to offer heartfelt thanks
For blessings we have had.
And we're free to curse and voice our hate
Of things we think are bad.

We're free to choose the things we say
And choosing well is good.
Because we're free to denigrate
Is not to say we should.

If we wish to right atrocious wrongs
Our silence cannot do.
But in speaking of what's very wrong,
What's right must be said, too.

Without a message loud and clear
Of what things must be done.
Vitriolic words of hate
Are clouds that blot the sun.

Leaders rise and pave the way
And pull their comrades from the ditch.
But change for good is never made
By those who only want to b*tch.

Madhouse

Up is down and down is up
And sideways thoughts assault me.
Babbling noises blast my ears
Devoid of rationality.

Chaos rules this mad house
As the time ticks slowly by
Accused of countless wicked things
That no one can deny.

It matters not who's nuts or sane
when 'ere those forces meet
For neither one can ever win
Nor can accept defeat.

It's all just utter madness
And it's just gone on and on.
And cannot, will not ever change
'Til one is out and gone.

Gone for good or just a week,
It's a damned fine change of pace
And I really need a holiday
That's miles from this place.

Contented days of sanity
Are waiting now for me.
Beyond a single wakeup past
A count of days just three.

Till Death Do Us Part

Bill and Kimmy's married bliss
Went on for just a year.
But something then became amiss
And Kimmy's health got queer.
When making love nigh every time
She fainted straight away.
So they told the doc about this sign
To see what he would say.
I'm afraid I've got bad news for you
You need to take a seat.
You see there's nothing I can do
This problem will repeat.
And next time that it happens, dear
It might cost you your life
Tell Bill your bed he can't get near
If he really loves his wife.
For days on end they suffered so
Upstairs in bed she slept,
Him on the couch the floor below
And every night she wept.
And then one night he couldn't last
He thought about her kisses sweet
So up the stairs he had to dash
And halfway up they both did meet.
I was comin' up to kill you, Kim
I'm afraid I cannot lie.
No worries love she said to him
'Cause I was comin' down to die.

Nature of Truth

The truth is all that matters.
It's not owned by you or me.
Our opinions do not phase it.
From our bias, it is free.

Some people try to hide the truth
While others just deny it.
Some seek to corrupt the truth
While others just decry it.

But the truth can never be destroyed.
We're better off to face it;
Letting truth be our life's guide.
When you find the truth, embrace it.

You never know if your beliefs
Are true unless you try
To launch them to opposing winds
And let them sink or fly.

Unchallenged, you can never know
What's truly wrong or right,
Opposing winds bring down a lie
But launch a truth in flight.

Though surely sometimes we'll be wrong
The truth will set us free.
And the sooner we concede when wrong
The fewer times we will be.

About this poem:
Debate is the greatest tool for testing truth; very effective as long as what's right is more important than who's right and as such both protagonist and antagonist benefit.

Sunshine

Your radiance is brilliant
But it warms instead of blinds.
Your wit and wisdom sparkles
Strumming chords in clever minds.

Your heart an endless fountain
Pouring love to all who thirst.
When a helping hand is needed,
It is you who offers first.

You cultivate what's good in life
And good in other souls.
And never are you daunted
By those with less noble goals.

Black clouds may form and rumble
And their darkness may hold sway
But dark clouds can't long prevail
Light will always win the day.

It's light that life requires
For it cannot thrive in dark.
And you inspire those around you
When they see your divine spark.

Never Alone

Wherever you go and whatever you do
In mind and spirit I'm at your side.
Each minute and day that you go through,
I'm with you for that ride.

You're in my arms, safe, secure.
And I'm forging out the way
To be with you forever more
As we start and end each day.

I've left with you a part of me
That links you to my whole
Lifting you to fly so free,
A wondrous cosmic soul.

All that's mine is yours, as well
My world I give to you.
And for your sake, I'd wade through hell
And cleave it's gates in two.

I'd batter down the strongest wall
Or cross a raging sea.
I'd climb a peak however tall
With you I'll always be.

You'll never have to be alone.
I'm with you day and night.
My love for you is carved in stone.
You're always in my sight.
