Irreplaceable

The song recalls a time gone by
Warm summers, perpetual blue skies
Dips in the ocean, walks in the park
Playing around, children at heart
You knew you loved me, right from the start
A candle burning, warm in your heart
Your arms around me, secure and tight
Kept me warm throughout the night
Your smile was infectious, and eased all wounds
Your kiss, a lifetime to reminisce
You’re long gone
But I recall the song, sung to me
Beneath the canopy of the chestnut tree
Perpetual blue skies, just my mother and me

You're Smile

YOU’RE SMILE

How can this be a smile so captivates me
So wide and bright, I feel my heard shutter, take flight
A smile that travels so tenderly and fans a flame where none would be
It will never be wasted, totally appreciated, to know that smile is for me
It’s been that way from the start a smile so binding it held my heart
So my darling forgive when I stare, your smile is your breath, my air

My World, Your World, Lost world

Lie in a meadow
Swim in the sea
Walk a path where none would be
Look around, take time to see
In natures orchard there is plenty for thee

Watch a rive sweep into the sea
Even the mighty Amazon will no longer be
As she mates with the deep blue sea
Nature has a way of letting you see
What a bountiful treasure was bequeath to thee

Yet how indifferent we have choose to be
Curled up warm, on a soft settee
Watching Attenborough on TV
Marvelling at a world, that may no longer be

It brings a tear to one’s eye
With deafly indifference so few cry

Unbind your eyes, it’s time to see
Take a breath while it’s free
And hope someday it’s not a luxurie

Something about You

I met a lady the other night
We dined and laughed throughout the night

When a thought crossed my mind, as are eyes and lips entwined
And I thought to myself, and wondered why
This beautiful woman, could be alone
And have no one to call her own

But as you talked the night along with me
Slowly I began to see
A part of you, inside me
For there we sat both alone
With no lover to call our own

We may go through life and wonder why
How the best parts could pass us bye
In just the blink of an eye

Let me rest my soul across your chest
And feel your smile, drift over me
Bathed in its warmth, its beauty, and grace
A friend to you I long to be
I know we have many things to share
And two warm hearts to show we care

So Sad

Another war on news
Death stalking from the sky
Oblivious bombs go buzzing bye
Another lost soul
A mother must console
Her son was not to keep

What Star

Under a clear autumn sky
I caught my thoughts just drifting by
Not a cloud to spoil my view
Just a million stars to reminded me of you
Then I recalled on times gone bye
That beautiful smile as you watched the sky
And wondered what star could catch your eye
And send your thoughts way up high
To recall a night, not long gone
When we made love till the early dawn

A lover missed

In Your garden
What would I be?
If not me!
How about a strong Oak
Or flowering cherry tree

Why not a flower
A rose maybe
A Lilly an Orchid, Iris, Sweet pea
Jasmine, Lavender, a Peony possible
Too much choice, so not for me

Maybe a Pear, pulled from a tree
A delicious strawberry eaten care free
Or even a cherry, juicy, sweet, mouth wateringly

Better still I’ll sing you a song
From high in the canopy
A Black bird, Thrush, Robin, Dove, I can be
And sing you a sweet melody

I’d be the breeze flowing through your hair
The sunlight as it danced across your face
Soft rain hanging tears on a nearby tree
Anything that gets me close to thee

I know now what I’ll be
A garden chair where you do rest
Sun on your face, feeling your best
Is the place I’d love to be
Right beside you, next to me

Book Of Dreams

I’m alone in the darkness, waiting for tiredness to release my soul, and take me to my book of dreams.
Flicking through the pages, I see you walk by, you lift your head,.I catch,a smile, lost in the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen.

We sit next to one another; we laugh, and talk, lost in the company of lovers and children as we find the sky within our reach.

Knowing you’re by my side, no dam can withhold my pride

In the darkness your hand slides over my body. Kisses like soft rain fall upon my skin, as my arms close around you, and pull you in.

I want to be there to dispel your fears, shelter you from the cold, kiss away the tears, hold you when you fall.

In my book of dreams there you be

I'am A River

Emerging from high up stone
I breath I kick
I start to flow, along the way I begin to grow
I cut a path I do not know
Stones and earth no true foe
I leave them still, on my bed below
I’ve travelled long, wide and far
Turned and twisted
Rose and fell
I smell the sea, danced in it swell
I was a river

About this poem:
Maybe I’m feeling melancholic as I’ve lived over half my life.
Thought I would give poetry ago, as the glove fits the particular hand fate has dealt me.
But hey it’s s beautiful morning now, spirits will rise with the sun.
Thanks for reading, take care, have a nice day, wherever you are.
