Health issues

Some people are too sensitive when asked about their health issues. Months ago a man asked another man about his health condition. The response was epic. The answer was a question. The second man asked the first man about the smell of the va..na of his wife. Given that the first man is on his 70's, it would be understandable if the health issue is diabetes, high blood pressure or other common ailments afflicting elders. Or admitting such is tantamount to being a weakling which is an anti with regards to the image he's projecting? Would he lose some of his "fans" upon admission that he has some health issues? Using tax money just to attend foreign conferences yet giving no show to 3 impt meetings is puzzling. Up to where the comedia would end? Up to where the flip flops would end? My country, my people, would the blood of national heroes who died just to give us democracy and a republic be gone to waste? May peace prevail! May reason prevail! May we all be humbled down with the spirit of Christmas! And let us not make the spirit of Christmas remain a spirit!bouquet

Solace

My present job is my fourth this year. Been there since May. I like the place since it's just near an old Shinto shrine with a pond full of gold fish of various hues and big black group of fish. I find the place rejuvenating esp after work. There is that feeling of peace, solitude, abundance in nature, of trees, cones, and birds. It's the place where I can pray shutting my eyes. One thing which I can't do in my home country. For the moment you pray and close your eyes inside the churches, chances are, your purse would "leave" your bag. I just notice that there are plenty of trees in shrines. Almost always when you see a mini forest, there's a shrine in it. While in my home country, if you see a church esp Catholic church, there are always tiny huts selling a variety of goods resembling a market place. What a sad place of worship has become of the churches of my youth! Hoping I'd stay longer here if only for that nook of solace! Happy weekend everyone!teddybear heart wings bouquet

Creative imagination!

When the presidential spokesman was asked about Duterte's announcement re US, he said one shld have creative imagination to understand what was announced. I just thought I need to be a soothsayer to understand everything. When fresh from Japan visit he said that there was a voice from God who told him to stop profanities. One poster(Iam just quoting), said that if you talk to God, that is called prayer. But if God talks to you then that is schizo.dunno Despite of one confusing week, wishing everyone happy weekend and peaceful days ahead of us.bouquet

A coincidence?

I always frequent off season sales. It is just a way for me to stretch my little money. I happen to chance on the newly displayed wagon of socks with a tag price of around 200 yen but only sold at half its price. One of the colorful pairs is a glowing colored yellow green cotton socks. The first time I wore it, one commented that they could see me even in the dark because of those socks. Some of my other co workers took notice of it too. First of all, Iam not hungering for anyone's attention. I was just wearing something I was so happy to be able to buy cheap. Nothing else. It was more of personal thing. Getting something worth of my money always give me a thrill. Then on the following week, a woman in her early 40's, extended her legs and showed her new pair of socks of the same hue as mine. When I used the shoes I bought in the Premium Outlet, she wore a new shoes and talked to me while idling her feet as if to let me see her new shoes. Do I have that kind of effect on the others? Or it is just coincidence? Whatever, doesn't matter. Sometimes trivialities like this makes me think am I weird to think about it that way? Or is she that weird to make me her model? Just got the payslip for this month and it's not that much since I have had 2 days off weekly unlike before when I had only one. But no problem, I'll be watching for the next off season bargains and would be buying from the supermarkets near closing time to get big discounts. I'd still be surviving with some bits of savings without cloning someone. laugh Still I wish everyone peace and happiness this weekend.heart wings bouquet

What a shop!

Yesterday, my son prodded me to go to a Premium Outlet. Iam intrigued just with the name. I thought I got to go and see what the labeling means and along the way I might be dusted with premium quality.grin The place is spacious with almost all the branded names I've just read on papers. I entered one shop named Forever 21. The price tags are all reachable and are fashionable. I took a fancy on a couple of jackets but the color and the style fits more the younger ones. Had I bought them and wore it, I might look forever 21 too. I resisted the temptation. Instead opted to buy a new balance shoes which I wasn't able to see in usual shoe stores. Such an establishment meant only for people who are into named products. Iam not into branded goods but if my son would want to spend an hour of driving practice, I'd willingly go. The food sold in the food court is worth the trip! Happy weekend everyone!!bouquet heart wings

Misplaced concern

It's already autumn. Whereas at around 7pm, the sky is still bluish during summer. This time around it's so dark that I have to bring a mini flashlight to aid my walk. This was the situation some four nights ago on my way to work. As I said before, I have to walk along some rice paddies, a convenience store, a supermarket a clinic and a hospital. In front of the hospital at the other side of the road is an unpaved parking area. There was a young woman ticking her cellphone. then I heard her say "kowai". Out of concern, since the parking area isn't lit, I guided her place with my flashlight. She was still hesitant to move. I just thought here's a young woman who might be afraid of snakes just like me. Several times I saw dead snakes most probably killed by someone and twice I saw living ones which slithered back as soon as they saw me. So, I thought then how funny that I was afraid of snakes when the snakes were afraid of seeing human. She must have been afraid of snakes, so I thought. So I approached her and asked here where was her car. Her hand signaled at the back part. I saw 1 car which opened has just opened its headlights. I was about to say no need tobe afraid because there's a nice guy around. But she repeated the word kowai and literally walked away. Only then I realized that maybe they're both co workers and he asked her out and she said yes and at the last minute changed her mind. Had I been free that night, I'd say don't be afraid I'll chaperoned you if you'll feed me like a queen! See, how being a concerned citizen will bring me into trouble!doh grin

Lost in time

Last night right after the 8pm alarm, a bunch of workers me included gathered in front of the bulletin board where our next work sked was posted. Among them were the newbies who happen to be Filipinos too. One girl said she'd beworking tomorrow because her name was on it. I told her to confirm it by telephone as tomorrow is a Saturday. And she told me that I'm wrong because it was only Thursday and tomorrow is a Friday. Then she asked another newbie if really was a Thursday and the answer was no because it was a Saturday. All 3 of us were telling a different day. I told them that today is Sept 2 and it's a Friday because it's the garbage disposal day in my danchi. It's just hard to be a newbie adjusting to different groups of co workers, different kind of work and products, and different work skeds. I just hope they stay as I was once again asked to be a translator of sort. No added pay and with quirks with my schedule but I sort of like it. Now not lost in time, wishing everyone a Happy Saturday and Sunday! Happy weekend everyone!heart wings bouquet

Going with the flow

In going to and from work, I have to pass some rice paddies. As it is planting season, the open canals serve as part of the irrigation system when water from the river is diverted to it. Iam fascinated with different kinds of water creatures I get to see frolicking in the water. One time I saw a couple of black fish around 6 inches and at another time probably longer than that. Maybe they thought they've found a new kind of adventure or maybe the flow was too swift for them to avoid. They were swimming here and there and seeing them made me appreciate more my adopted country. Such clear water you could even see the shrimp like creature crawling down below. I won't see such clear waters in my home country unless I go to far off provinces. Still in far off provinces, you won't appreciate it either because of carabao dungs. Those water creatures would continue swimming here and there until the water ran dry when the source is closed. By then, they won't fascinate me anymore but they'll serve another purpose as fertilizer to the rice fields or as feeds to the birds. And all their fault was to go with the flow.

Just like a boat sailing in rough seas

Yesterday, I happened to read an article in yahoo about the most dangerous country in the world that would get a bit more scarier once the elected sit this end of June. When asked who donated the big chunk of his campaign fund, he said he didn't know who did. When somebody asked to divulge the topic of the meeting with the Chinese right before election, it was said to be non political. When asked what was his plan with the Kalayaan Island, he said he is willing to give up claim if the Chinese would built a railway system in Mindanao. but now days before his term begins, he is saying he won't give up the islands but that he doesn't intend to go to war just because of those islands. then when the Americans paid a visit to him, he asked are you with us when in reality he wanted to hear an offer bigger than the one the Chinese is offering. His solution to my homeland's problem is a simpleton kind of thinking. Did it ever enter his mind that the Chinese appear to want to unseat America as the world's no. 1, having unseated Japan as no. 2 by coincidence? And did he ever think he's selling the country to whoever is the highest bidder. To think that almost all sector are accusing Mr. Trillanes of selling the islands to the Chinese! I don't have bad blood against the Chinese. After all, Chinese blood run into my body. I have great appreciation of Chinese culture and philosophies. It's just that ruling the world out of unsatisfiable greed when they have all the untapped resources in their own backyard. Upon reading the yahoo article, I felt sad. i imagine my country like a small boat sailing in rough seas, and the man oaring the boat is a proud ambitious sailor knocking on everyone's heart as someone from humble beginnings. How can that be, when he graduated in one of the exclusive school for boys whose tuition fee could be enough to feed an average family of 4 in a year?God forbid! I hate to imagine my country repeating the history of Vietnam!
