The song in my head...

Flashback to 1968 and I was going to high school by day and a musician in a garage band by night. I enjoyed school with the exception of a few subjects. Typically, it was lousy teachers for that. My older brother remembered many of the ones I got.
Anyway, to pass the time I would 'rehearse virtually' long before personal computers and internet allowed us to do that.
In my head I could go through a 40 minute set, which was perfect as most of my classes lasted 40 minutes!

Since then, I cannot recall not having the ability to 'play' a song in my head.

Having blogged about people who cannot work without music playing, depending on what I'm doing... I could be the opposite. At work, I'm paid to do a job and need to focus.
The last thing I need is to have music (any music) as a distraction.
Maybe if I'm putting stock on shelves in a warehouse or painting can I get lost in music and not have it interfere with my job.

The one contradiction is the music in my head. If I'm driving in my car, listening to music and go into the house... there's a really good chance that last song I listened to is still playing in my virtual jukebox. If I have no distractions, I'll play the song in my head and it will be there when I wake up!

Currently, I'm 'listening' to Emerson Lake and Palmer The Endless Enigma. It started this weekend when I did a YouTube marathon on ELP.

Absolutely a great song... I could listen to it for days!

How to Download Free Cell Phone Ringtones

The internet is an amazing place to find free cell phone ringtones, but if you want to download them to your phone, you must do so by downloading the file to your phone first. If you're using a computer, you can do the same thing. After downloading the file, you can cancel the subscription by following the instructions on the web site. Most ringtone services also let you cancel by texting STOP to the cell phone number they are registered with.

You can download free cell phone ringtones on any computer via data cable, SMS, or Bluetooth. You can also use a site called MelodyComposer.com to create your own unique ringtone. You can also make your own custom cellular earphones by creating your own ringtone. Depending on what you're looking for, there are many ringtones to choose from on these sites.

A ringtone will allow you to distinguish between regular and irregular callers. You can even set different ringtones for certain contacts, so you can differentiate who's calling and who's not. Having different tones on your cell phone can make it easier to identify who's calling you and reduce confusion in crowded places. You can also download free cell phone ringtones for your favorite music genre.

Another great way to download free cell phone ringtones is through apps. A lot of apps and ringtones sites let you download them for free, and they even let you download mobile wallpapers for your desktop. These sites have everything for you to download for free. You simply need to follow the instructions on screen. When you're finished, you can transfer your files to your phone. And there you go - free cell phone ringtones!

You can download free ringtones for iPhone and Android devices from itunemachine. You'll need to have an iPhone or an Android to download free ringtones. The good news is that you can even download them in MP3 format. In addition to free ringtones, you'll also find ringtones for your BlackBerry, Windows Phone, Nokia and Symbian devices. There are many other sites that offer free ringtones, so take your time and choose the ones that work best for you.

Another great way to get free ringtones is to create your own custom ringtones. Ringtone Maker is an app that allows you to record your own voice, import other audio, and edit it into a ringtone. You can even add fade-in and out effects for your ringtone. This app supports most file formats, including mp3 and audio files. Using it is free, but it does contain ads.

The Kind (that break your heart...)

It happens to men and women mostly...

I just want to put some music up to rock away the blues and delete this blog at a later date because it has no significance to anyone...

Blind girls do cry...

I rarely go a weekend without listening to Emerson, Lake and Palmer. In the past few years there have been many videos of Rachel Flowers who is probably the top performer of Keith Emerson's music.

Keith ended his life by suicide in 2016 had suffered with focal dystonia, a painful crippling disease that affected his right hand. He had several surgeries, suffered from depression and had a short list of health related issues.

Prior to Keith's death, he acknowledged Rachel (on several interviews) for her accomplishments as she and other musicians have produced several ELP music videos available on YouTube.

Rachel was chosen to perform at the 2017 Keith Emerson Tribute in Birmingham, England. Most of her work was virtual during COVID-19 with other musicians and my guess it was the biggest live gig she's performed at.

It's obvious she was overwhelmed with emotion and starts to cry about a minute into the song.

Rachel who lost her eyesight as an infant, was taught piano at an early age. She is also accomplished at flute and guitar.

Ginger Baker's Air Force...

I was heavily influenced by the 'supergroup' Cream. When they disbanded, drummer Ginger Baker teamed up with Traffic singer, guitarist, keyboardist Steve Winwood to form Blind Faith. I played some of their songs but I always felt 'something was missing'.
There must have been 10 of those guys who played 'revolving doors' with recording sessions, touring and short lived band lineups.
I was fading away from music when I heard that Baker started a group called Ginger Baker's Air Force. That was around 1969.
Somewhere I read it was a mixture of jazz and African music. I wasn't interested and all these years later I never took a good listen to his music.

Tonight it popped up on my YouTube list. Okay, I'll take a listen...

Phil Collins bids emotional farewell to fans at his final concert

Music legend Phil Collins held his last concert ever amid his ongoing health issues.
Collins was joined by Genesis bandmates Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks for their last show ever at London's 02 Saturday evening. Collins, 71, performed the show sitting down and quipped to the crowd he will now need to find a real job, the Daily Mail reported.

Collins has suffered from numerous health issues in recent years, including dislocating vertebrae in his neck in 2007 that left nerve damage to his hands. He has used a cane since 2015, when he had back surgery, and revealed in September he can "barely hold" a drumstick.

Taylor Hawkins dead at 50...

This comes as a total shock. If you know the Foo Fighters, Taylor was their drummer.
Details are sketchy but it's said the band was on tour in South America. They finished a gig at a Festival in Argentina and scheduled to play Friday in Columbia.

I didn't see any updates to their website:

DO YOU WANNA DANCE?

I have taught American line dancing for many years and though I never bothered about real dancing when I was much younger, I was so glad that I discovered this form of exercise. I enjoyed it so much that I started to teach it and it opened a world of appreciation of all kinds of dance and music. It is a great form of mental and physical stimulation and enables you to express yourself and escape the restrictions of life. I enjoy watching all types of dance and listening to the music that accompanies the steps.
Are there any dances that you have performed and what type of music and artists do you appreciate?
Are there any films you have watched and enjoyed the dance moves?

Ride Like the Wind...

Musician, singer, songwriter Christopher Cross released the song Ride Like the Wind in 1980 and it was a hit reaching #2 on the Billboard charts.

The basis of the song was about a convicted outlaw on the run from a death-by-hanging sentence. He has to 'ride like the wind' to reach the Mexican border and avoid capture by the sheriff's posse.

Great song, great lyrics. Here is the album version:

Michael McDonald does the background vocals.
