Did You Notice

Take the mask off of faith and you'll see money
Take the mask off love you'll see a friend
No one wants to be serious just funny
But there's nothing funny about the world coming to an end

People let their cars navigate them around
And design their homes to fit a tv on the wall
And no one ever says you've got a call
And the next text message never says it all

Something is missing and what I'm missing you wouldn't know
Like some forgotten language that's never coming back
Did you notice how technology has taken control
People bow their heads to text yet for years no one's noticed a welcome mat

If I Had A Home

I've got a house but Lord if I had a home
I've got a car and Lord if I had a passenger
I wouldn't drive alone

And every day the early morning sunrise
Is waiting for me to begin
Out of bed and my knees sorely bend

And for an hour I listen to the radio
Then I go for a walk and once the dew is gone
I've got a house to return to but Lord if I had a home

Couldn't Esape The Past Couldn't Ride The Future

Couldn't escape the past
Couldn't ride the future and no such thing as a hitchhiker
Without traction you will never know satisfaction
Who writes a story when there will be only one page
The short continuous circle path of poverty
Becomes a dumb down situation
No matter what direction you turn a vehicle
With bald tires you won't get very far
Without traction you'll never meet satisfaction
Couldn't escape the past couldn't ride the future
The summer sun is hotter than usual today
Is it possible the hum of the ac could cause dementia

life

The sun rises and the sun sets
and the darkness comes to stay
with stars appearing and brightly shining light from faraway
we are all here in time , but it seems only for a day
what we may find or keep can never fad away

things may come and things may go
when and where we will never know
it is all part of life's great plan and all we can do is go along with the flow.

Tarot - Ask the Cards

Will he come to me?
Shall I be his bride?
Speak unbroken promise
Stay right by my side

Is he on his way?
Dare I crack the door
How shall it be, with he?
A cosmos to explore

Remorsefully encumbered
Such a burden, my dear
Shall I awaken to him, sleeping
Upon my breasts, right here?

When will he arrive?
For I can hardly sleep
This moment I've been praying
Our love forever, keep

Hurry near, beloved
My patience runs too thin
Kiss my eyes before
The tears they fall again

I've No More Time To Bend My Mind

I've no more time to bend my mind
The illusion of love must fade away
While I can still think I've got to say

As I stop being a fool
I wave my hand in the sign of adieu
Now let the sun come shinning through

As I open up the blind
Rays of sunlight breathe upon the floor
I've no more time to bend my mind
And no longer minutes to ignore

Missed chances and been here before
And minutes become few to find
Searching words with escape to an open door
On a journey and I've no more time to bend my mind

Until We Meet Again

Golden threads of memory of you
Keep running through my mind,
Thinking of the times we shared
Keeps you still alive within my heart

Everyday I miss your smile
Though I see it in a frame
But no one ever can replace
The sweetness and comfort it brought;

My heart still bleeds in silence
Silent tears still flow
What it was to lose you my baby
Only I ever know.

Losing you was unbearable
And still it is the same,
I keeping searching for answers
That no one but God can explain;

Your Memory is a beacon
That guides me through this lonely life
It is a precious keepsake
Embedded in my heart.

Death is a mystery,it tears loved ones apart,
But one thing I know for sure
God has you in his arms,
I have you in my heart.

I know we'll meet again someday,somewhere
Beyond the blue,
Till then I'll find the strength
To live through each lonely day.

Not

It is not
this body
that you see
that is me
it is I
who lives within
can you see
that is me

The Poet Weeps

The poet weeps
She has her own way of crying,
Her tears fall in her words,
Sometime she feels them flying,
Like the soulful songs of the birds,
Some people's tears are salted,
As they fall on the cheeks,
Her tears are in the pen,
She writes what she weeps.
She cries the words of her heart,
Her tears come from out of her soul.
She writes quietly in the dark,
Of tears that never show.
A poet's tears fall,
Where they may not be heard.
With a pen she cries,
Each tear becomes the word.
She has her own way,
Of healing her broken heart.
The words come so easy in the dark.
Some people cry salted tears,
As they run down the cheeks,
Words are the tears,
That the poet weeps.

CALLING ALL POETS!

Stuck in the hallway, shouting at ghosts.

About this poem:
Please add a line. Let it take the poem forwards. Allow it to be as open as possible for the next line that follows. You can add more than one line, but no consecutive additions.
Let's see where it leads.
Let's try for about 2/3 weeks worth.
I'll compile and publish it on here at the end of that time.
