Life is Short ... (Must be a Dream)
Wow another day here Alone....
Sitting here with my Scone...
I'm late again and still Alone......
Just then I noticed a Wisp of a Girl...
Walking by eating a Scone...
She sits beside Me...
Finishing Her scone...
Alas.. I realized...
She and I are eating our Scones ..
and for that brief Special moment....
We
Are
Not
Alone....

About this poem:
Loneliness is a Blind Virtue

The heat of the sun.
The crackings of the whip.
The screams of pain.
The blood of peeled flesh.
The plight of their time.

A lonely old man
In his rocking chair.
He just rocks
And he goes nowhere.
He'll look at you
With a glassy stare.
The sight of him
Is hard to bear.
He lost his love
Of many years.
His bloodshot eyes
Are filled with tears.
He hardly knows
If you are here.
In his sad life
There is no cheer.
He only waits
For his final day.
When they come
And take him away.
Then he will rest
And all can say.
He'll meet his love
And together they'll stay.

Two hundred twenty nine
And now today another I will write
But if I'd had someone to talk too
There wouldn't be one poem in your sight
Two hundred twenty nine leaves a long lonely trail
And it's sad looking back
So write one more might as well
Two hundred twenty nine
What has been on my mind
What was I trying to say
Now it's two thirty I'll still be awake come the break of day
So now you have found me after my thoughts have become so quiet
But If I had someone to talk too
There wouldn't be one poem in your sight

When I was young I didn't know I was thirty
Time wouldn't talk to me and I couldn't tell
But time told me when I was sixty
Time became a friend late in my life
And this time I hope that time
Tells me to do the things that are right
Bitter sweet memories I'll hold onto for as long as I can
When I was young I didn't know I was thirty
Time became a friend late in my life and here I am
What I finally noticed I'll try to say but you are far away
And words are now useless as I find
Time only talks with the second hand

Ignorance is innocence,
what is it I've become?
The pillar of my sanity,
I've yet to overcome.
They fall, as they crumble in my wake,
these pillars I have come to love,
I now can only rake.
Take away the pain from me,
what remains but the shell?
The hollowed essence of a man,
not sane enough to tell.
Sanity alone, not the only one that fell,
these pillars I have come to loathe,
have buried me as well.

I must be on a one way street there's no people to meet
I look behind me no one in sight
Guess I'm headed to lonelyville
I think I'll be there tonight
The speed zone is slow and alone
Not a stop sign do I see no off road to the left or right
Guess I'm headed to lonelyville
I think I'll be there tonight
Finally a sign curve up ahead
I can't remember the last thing she said
I lean on a post under a dim street light
Still headed to lonelyville I think I'll be there tonight

I often wonder in my moments of despair
If I were to die today would anybody truly care
Will they be at my bedside as I slowly slip away
Or will they be off on an adventure many miles away
Will it be quick or will it be slow
Who will be there when I finally go
What hearts will break what lives will shatter
For the loss of someone who doesn't really matter
So when that day inevitably comes for me
I hope those I love will be there for me to see

In melancholy mind leave the world behind
And when you return what you learn what you find
Is a soap opera life hasn't changed still the same
The people that you meet haven't missed a beat
Only the clock on the wall has kept up with spring or fall
Turning back who are you looking for in melancholy mind
Close the bedroom door and no lady there
To kiss your lips or take her fingertips
Slowly through your hair
Outside the window you stare
At empty clothes pins on a line
Except for one pillow case so fall asleep in melancholy mind

Now I finally see her and it hurts so much to know
After I loved her so deeply
She never loved me at all and now where can I go
For she was nothing more than the leader of the gang
Who have always tried to stop me to block me
And for what they have done they feel no shame
Now it's finally over it's come down to the end
Never got to kiss her never got to hold her
And it's hurts to say goodbye cruel friend
Now all the deceivers have to start over again
I've been through hell and baby I got back
Goodbye cruel friend
