Avocado Shake

Despite its origin in Central and North America (Mexico), there are some records that occurred an important penetration of cultivation and consumption in colonial Brazil, being culturally absorbed: this fruit is known in practically all regions of the country.

However, perhaps something more original is the fact of being part of the Brazilian food as "dessert" or any genre always linked to candy etc, and will rarely be consumed as salty food or similars.

Then I present a recipe of Avocado Shake, very well known here in Brazil, and I hope it is very tasty for you.
Have a good time (and drink, for sure)!

Avocado Shake Recipe

Ingredients

<> 1 ripe avocado (makes 4 servings)
<> 1 cup milk
<> Crushed ice 3/4 cup

<> Blender

Optional:
<> 1/4 cup sugar

Directions

1) Mix the avocado, milk, ice, and sugar in a blender.
<> Cut the avocado using a knife or a spoon to scoop the fruit into the blender.
The insides should be green, and perhaps vaguely yellow--but not brown. Slice away any brown bits and leave them out of your shake. Discard the lumpy skin on the outside and the hard pit in the center.

2) Blend the ingredients until the mixture is no longer chunky.
<> This may take anywhere from 30 seconds to several minutes. Keep an eye on the shake while it is blending. You may need to hold the lid down to keep it from jostling loose.
<> Keep checking the consistency until it is done. With the blender off, use a spoon to stir the mixture and check for lumpy bits. If you find any large chunks of avocado or ice, replace the lid and blend for another 10-15 seconds.
<> If it is your first time making an avocado shake - and even if it is not - sample the mixture as you go. Feel free to change the recipe to meet your tastes: add more milk for a thinner shake; more avocado, ice; more sugar or sweetener for a sweeter shake. As you interact with the recipe and consider what you like, you will get better and better at making avocado shakes.

3) Drink and enjoy!

Notes

Interesting aspects:

<> You can compost or discard the skin, the pit, and any other avocado bits that you do not want to save.

<> Any type of sugar is fine: brown, white, granulated, etc. Avocados can be bitter, but sugar will mitigate any hint of bitterness.
But...
If you are on a no - or low - sugar diet, feel free to forego the sugar and let the natural richness of the avocado shine.
Consider using natural sweeteners like honey and agave nectar. These ingredients will keep your shake sweet without exposing you to processed, industrially-refined sugar. Add natural sweeteners to taste; as a rule of thumb, start with the same amount of sweetener that is listed in the recipe, and work up or down from there.

<> Here in Brazil, we like to mix with many other fruits, such as bananas, coconut milk etc... Try something different as well!

Tzatziki Sauce (Greek Cucumber Salad)

A cool and creamy cucumber and garlic yogurt sauce that is perfect in pitas, on salads, for dipping or even eating by the spoonful.
Tzatziki is a Greek meze or appetizer that is made from strained yogurt, cucumber and garlic. Optional ingredients include herbs such as dill, mint and/or parsley and lemon juice is also common. If you are feeling daring you can even hit it up with a splash of ouzo. In addition to being served as an appetizer it makes a great dip or condiment especially when served in gyros or with souvlaki.

Chicken Liver Skeewers With Infused in Japanese Sauce

I am a very passionate cook and believe in cooking from the heart. Put love and zest heart into your food and the end result is a symphony of flavors. Try these Chicken Livers. They are easy, inexpensive and taste wonderful. Cooking should never be a chore. It should be fun. Enjoy making these!!

Chicken Liver Skeewers With Infused in Japanese Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

500g chicken livers
1 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1 cup mirin / rice wine / sake
¼ cup water
3 tablespoons brown sugar
5 cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspooons minced ginger
Onions (optional)
Sesame Seed (optional)
Skewers

Directions

First Make the Marinade Sauce:
Combine the soy sauce, Mirin / rice wine / sake, water, brown sugar, garlic and ginger in a sauce pan.
Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer, stirring often and scraping the bottom of the pan to make sure the sugar doesn’t burn. Cook until the mixture begins to thicken, about 20 minutes. Once it's done, let it cool down completely before using on the chicken livers. (Note : This sauce will last up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator)

The preparation of the Chicken Liver Skewers :
Combine the chicken liver pieces and enough of sauce to cover the livers in a large bowl. Mix all and refrigerate for one hour. Soak the skewers in hot water while the chicken liver marinates. Now you can assemble your skewers alternating with cut pieces of onions if you opt to do so.

Grill the skewers over medium heat, turning often. Baste some of the sauce during cooking.

Once done sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and serve hot.

Busia's pierogi

Procedure:

Noodle, Cream egg with water and salt. Add flour slowly while mixing, via strainer if you want, until incorporated. Kneed or with a dough hook untill smooth and stretchy. Let the dough rest for a while, covered to keep moist. Once the gluten relaxes, roll out thinly on a lightly floured surface. Using a round cookie cutter, coffee mug, whatever you have.. Cut as many circles out as you can. Sprinkle flour on top, brush flour off from both sides. You can let the circles dry like boot leather. When youre ready, plop a heaping spoonful of cheese mixture slightly off-center. With a fine mist, spray all the circles (with cheese on them) with water. Just so the flour that was left on them forms a glue, it will be tacky. Fold the circle so the cheese is in the middle, of a half circle. Crimp the convex portion with a fork. You can cut the edge ruffled to hide any imperfection. Dust finished pierogi with flour. With a pot of water at a rolling boil, toss them in one at a time leaving enough room for them to sequentially float to the top. They will be floating and look soft when finished. Shake them off and toss them into a hot pan with a generous amount of melted butter with finely sliced sweet onion. Fry under medium heat until the middle is caramelized on both sides. Eat!

Cheese, crumble finely into a bowl the farmers cheese. Add ricotta. Add salt and sugar to taste. Mix well, so that all of it looks lumpy.

Chicken Breasts,Broccoli Cheese Stuffed

I found this on the internet and haven't tried it as yet but I do intend on trying it.

Chicken Breasts Broccoli Cheese Stuffed Recipe

Ingredients

Ingredients

3 large chicken breasts
salt & pepper
1 1/2 tsp garlic powder, divided
1/4 tsp paprika
1 cup finely chopped broccoli florets
1/2 cup finely diced red bell pepper
1 cup mild cheddar cheese
1 tbsp mayo
2 tbsp olive oil

Directions

Instructions

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, paprika and 1/2 tsp of the garlic powder. Use a sharp knife to cut a slice through the middle of the chicken breasts, but not all the way through, creating a pocket for the filling.
For the filling, place the broccoli in a microwaveable dish and add about 2 tablespoons of water. Cover with plastic wrap and microwave for 1 minute. Drain any excess water. To the dish add the bell pepper, cheese, mayo, remaining garlic powder and salt and pepper to taste. Mix until combined, then divide the mixture between the chicken breasts, using a toothpick to secure if necessary.
Heat a large, oven safe skillet (I prefer to use a cast iron skillet), over medium heat and add the olive oil. Sear the chicken for 3 to 4 minutes on each side. Cover skillet with foil and bake in preheated oven for 15- 17 minutes, or until chicken reads 165 degrees. Let rest, covered for 5 minutes before enjoying.

Notes

The creator of this recipe stated this blow.

Since these are large chicken breasts, I usually say 1/2 chicken breast is one serving.
