Life After a Stroke

Life After a Stroke
On a serious note here i would like to take the opportunity to address disabilities subject. I know if a person or persons on here have brought this subject up when trying to find a mate. I have an ex husband who suffered a stroke and he is happily with a new woman who turned out to be his caregiver. The hardest part of a disability is acceptance and trying to make a new start in life. He doesn't remember our marriage which turned out to be a blessing in disguise as it wasn;t a good marriage at all. However, the down side to it is he doesn;t remember our wedding or the birth of his children either or the good memories we did share too. He knows he does have kids as the doctors has to give him the description of me and the kids as his next of kin and he has had to put together a whole new start with them and he has which is a blessing in disguise. However, he didn;t handle the kids disabilities when we were married and he has one now which made him realize that. He will never remember the bad stuff now and a new beginning has begun for us all. He is proof that a new life can be shared with someone and that a disability doesn't have to be a bad thing and you can find someone who loves you in spite of it and have a happy life. Why am i sharing this with you, you may well ask? Because the world we live in does have people in it who aren;t accepting of disabilitis yes, but are tolerant for the most part of them. Life can be fruitful and blessed in spite of those disabilities and i would like to offer some hope to those who think they cannot find their mate. Yes you can as i have lived amongst family members for years who all have had disabilities and living happily with their mates in married bliss and i want u to know you have many qualities to still offer the right appreciative person who will welcome them and you and u can be happy too. There is life after a stroke and a disability, i know proof positive from first hand experience and witness it happens. Be encouraged and strengthened today. Life sometimes gives you a curve ball and on the other end of that curve is sometimes blessings in disguise and changes that can be wonderful and brand new. There is life after a tragedy and life after a disability and new awareness of your surroundings with new eyes. Look for some new things to spice up or change your life and you will be amazed at the possibiities you can come up with. Life can be better and will be better for you when you adjust your thinking into something positive and you will see amazing things happen to you.!!!

After many years of poor health due to his heart problems, (two heart attacks) I had to hospitalize my husband for a stroke that I never knew had happened to him as my husband was one of those people who believed that nothing bad would happen to him and preferred to hide things about his health.
Every day his health got worse and worse until he got in a vegetative state. According to the doctors there was nothing to be done and I had to make the hardest decision of my life... to let him go. Sometimes I wonder if I had the right to decide about his life.
Now, I feel devastated because I haven´t been able to get over this guilt.

hi cuddles thank you for posting this article..lot of insight and it will be a help to all who live in the real world where illness, disability and such things exist..

i have worked with special needs at one point in my career and loved working to support them.

no one asks for such things to happen, and it can be a shock to people that i understand, but life is a lot more than just looking good or being fit physically, lots of us get problems as we get older.

your article shows light on something that is outthere..and its real..maybe more will be sympathetic...and less distant...
