“Lies Have expiry dates but the truth never expire

As we enter a new year, I believe that it is imperative that I remind you of the lessons that I was taught as a child: in particular, to tell the difference between being ethically and morally right or wrong. Lying is probably one of the most common wrongs that we carry out in our everyday lives. This applies to all human beings,even a normal person such as ourselves.. Most would say that lying is always wrong, except when a good calling backs its up; in this manner they reason their way into moral hypocrisy. I write this letter to help you become a moral and ethical man/woman and to inform you of the practices that you commit. Is your usage of famous lies ethical and in its right place, or have you fallen prey to the deceit of an unintentionally immoral society In order to understand the repercussions of your crimes, you must arrive at an agreement with me on the meaning of a “lie.” A lie is “a form of deception” (as you would know), “but not all forms of deception are lies.”In a broader sense, lying is giving some information while believing it to be false, thus intending to deceive. From this definition, society has established that there are certain characteristics that liars exhibit: namely, they aim to deceive or mislead. Thus, in society, lying is considered wrong, as it diminishes the trust between humans and makes it difficult for the recipient of the lie to make a truly informed decision. as it is based on false information. Yet all of this is revoked in the case of special exceptions. Such is seen in the usage of lies that appear to use evil for supposedly right purposes: for instance, deceptions for the sake of the common good. The vast majority of people view lying sympathetically,or even approve of it, in situations where a small evil would apparently serve a larger good. Throughout this journey that you may undertake in order to clean yourself up, you must learn how to respond to arguments that will come your way.So be truthful to yourself and those that you come in contact,as this will gain you more respect and not for you to believe your own lies. wave To all the members of Connecting Singles,I would just like to send my sincere belated wishes to one and all for Christmas and you're beginning of a New year.I had taken up my position in working for HOSPICE during this very sad time when people are very ill and just dumped at a compassionate place such as Hospice.I have been doing this for many years and it gives me even, greater respect for those that have to suffer for such a long time and still hold their dignity and faith until their day of passing on to the next realm takes place.For all the members that might have had bad news or a loss of a dear one I say my condolences and may the God that you believe in bring comfort to yourselves and family.I wish each and every one Love,Peace and Harmony,Health and mainly forgiveness to all those that have wronged us or visa versa ,be it with each other or ourselves by being too harsh on ourselves ,by not believing by wanting to throw in the towel.My greatest wish is that there will be peace on earth and goodwill towards each other and that we may live in harmony ,no matter what creed,colour or religion,as long as this does not interfere with our beliefs,thoughts and choices. peace peace peace peace lips

Hospice Volunteer Spiritual Nourishment

angel2 angel This has been a long and winding road,sadness and pain but most of all gratefulness that a beloved has been spared for yet another day. My voluntary caregiving is not over yet as I have taken a few hours to come up take air and rejuvenate.Hospice volunteer work is not about death. It is about life. It is about the moment, the hour, the time you spend serving. When I signed up to train as a volunteer, I did not know if I could do it. Our society does not spend much time, money, energy, or thought on our last days, thus my knowledge of the process was minimal. Having trained and experienced firsthand the process, feelings, and journeys of others’ ultimate passage has made me a much more thoughtful and wise person. What is really important has surfaced. My life has more value.As my life and schedule have changed during my volunteering, people ask me if I plan to continue to volunteer, or if I have time to volunteer still. My answer is that I cannot imagine not volunteering. It is a part of me. It is an intricate part of my life--my spiritual nourishment. It is a great gift to me. My greatest hesitance or fear is that I am getting more out of it than I am giving.Hospice has clearly put so much into their organization, and that makes me feel as I do about volunteering. The training is thorough, and the staff is superb. The best part of my day is when I meet someone and share that I am a volunteer at Hospice. There is usually a pause, a clarity in their eyes, as if refocusing, and then the conversation continues almost on a different level. They automatically know something about your heart and about who you are. They know you are real.
I was not able to wish anybody for the festive season as I would have`loved to but the blog I posted became nasty and I did not want this to effect me in anyway as to rub off on the patients I was going to give my love and attention to.I now wish each and every living being,be it human ,animal,friend,acquaintance or those that dont like me grin “Follow your passions, believe in karma, and you won’t have to chase your dreams;they will come to you.teddybear bouquet lips

Non Christians And Non Believers

"I AM NOT A CHRISTIAN OR NON BELIEVER" Yet you cant wait for Xmas doh
The atheists have diluted it to be a general holiday so they can feel good about participating. Christmas was designated as the day to celebrate the birth of Christ plain and simple. As I understand it, that particular day was chosen many years ago to coincide with the celebration of a Pagan holiday in order to hide from persecutors of Christians in countries that did not allow Christianity. If you do not believe in something, why would you celebrate it? If you want to celebrate love and family, then pick a different day and start a tradition. How about Thanksgiving? I also think it is funny that all the atheists voted yes. I and other Christians would never tell you to stop, but just realize that you are being hypocritical and diluting our holiday with a lesser meaning. You basically see everyone else having fun so you don't want to miss out. I have more respect for the nonbelievers that don't celebrate than the people who try to dilute the meaning for their own gain. Did you ever wonder why the people that celebrate it for its true meaning are happy? It is because they are saved. If you're not Christian, its not Christmas The point of Christmas is literally to celebrate a religious event, the birth of Christ. If you fail to acknowledge the significance of this birth, why celebrate the holiday? It's not acceptable for non-jews to celebrate hanukkah, so why is this any more acceptable? Less than 24 hours after President Jacob Zuma fired finance minister Nhlanhla Nene and replaced him by the unknown ANC back-bencher, David van Rooyen, fund managers and analysts are spelling doom for South Africa’s economy.

Speaking to Bloomberg, Investec Asset Management fund manager Malcolm Charles described the situation as a “self-induced crisis”, in which investors are “voting with their feet” and taking money out of the country to other markets.

According to Charles, who oversees R7.3 billion in assets, investors are selling at a loss, and are not looking back.

Preparing for a crash and burn

The South African rand once again hit new lows against the US dollar on Thursday, briefly reaching over R16 against the greenback, before settling at approximately R15.80.

Making matters worse, ratings firm Standard & Poor’s has warned that any deviation from South Africa’s fiscal plan by the new minister would very likely result in the country’s credit rating being junked.

This would make the lending rate for South Africa significantly higher, while professional investors, such as hedge funds, pension funds and asset managers would be prevented (through their own policies) from investing in country.

S&P recently changed its outlook on the country from stable to negative, following a year of creeping economic growth which is expected to be even slower in 2016. Other firms, Fitch and Moody’s have the country at stable on the lowest investment grade.

According to analysts, investors are preparing for the country to enter junk status – which would cause even more investment capital to flee the country.

Economist, Cees Bruggemans painted a bleak future for South Africa under van Rooyen, saying that, on top of junk status, South Africans can expect higher inflation, raised taxes and an even weaker rand.

Will there ever be peace and goodwill on earth

confused There are many forms of prejudice and oppression, not just based on race, but on gender, class, s*xual orientation, etc As far back as I can remember South Africa was in turmoil as far as racism was concerned.Therefore not only because I was brought up in a chosen religion.but because of my parents point of view as far as apartheid was concerned I was brought up in a convent and protected as such from being out of harms way from having to deal with the situation of segregation. I have been called all names on this blog ,but needless to say I quite frankly don't care a continental as I know who I am and where I come from
The reason for this discussion boils down to me saying I have made my choice as to what ethnic group I choose to date/marry,and therefore it is my right as much as it is the right of any persons to decide whether you believe in GOD or not.Being placed in a convent meant that I would not be labeled a VERY DEROGATORY NAME which I do not wish to put in words on the blog for fear of being misinterpreted again.I had then and have now more friends of "COLOUR" than I can count on all fingers and toes. We respect each other choices and under no circumstances have ever called each other racists.On the contrary we have "MIXED" races that are married and are very comfortable in each others company.Now my point here is ,it gives nobody the right to judge South Africans and paint us all with the same brush.There is NOBODY on this planet earth that can look me in the eye and say there is not one single solitary race that they themselves do not like.So please people before throwing stones,look into your own likes and dislikes and leave those that have made choices for themselves,as if we do not wish to date/marry another ethnic group does not mean we dislike anyone of "COLOUR".The same choices we make on certain religious groups.I don't see why I have to keep defending myself ,but find this is getting monotonous and quite frankly boring now,as there are far better things to discuss than the choices we as humans like to make.So I say to all those that wish to vilify me go on ahead if it is going to make you feel better,but just know it is to me LIKE WATER ON A DUCKS BACKbouquet lips lips

Wash Away The Sorrows Wash Away The Tears

hmmm Out of the dog box and back on the blog.Needed that break so I am told.My spirit was not broken and I did not unfold.Was able to catch up on many of my personal things that started getting behind,so the break was merely more a necessity than a hindrance.This has also given me time to reflect on things that are far more important than to allow me to be challenged once more.I will stand by my right and not allow a wrong to rattle my cage,instead take precaution on who and how I answer.I have now worked out the puzzle and the pieces therein.I will be able to suss out the cliques from the camilleri to the true and the false peeps that follow like sheep wow

misused words that make smart people look dumb

We're all guilty of this from time to time, myself included
Accept vs. Except
These two words sound similar but have very different meanings. Accept means to receive something willingly: "His mom accepted his explanation" or "She accepted the gift graciously." Except signifies exclusion: "I can attend every meeting except the one next week."
To help you remember, note that both except and exclusion begin with ex.
Affect vs. Effect
To make these words even more confusing than they already are, both can be used as either a noun or a verb.

Let's start with the verbs. Affect means to influence something or someone; effect means to accomplish something. "Your job was affected by the organizational restructuring" but "These changes will be effected on Monday."

As a noun, an effect is the result of something: "The sunny weather had a huge effect on sales." It's almost always the right choice because the noun affect refers to an emotional state and is rarely used outside of psychological circles: "The patient's affect was flat."

Lie vs. Lay

We're all pretty clear on the lie that means an untruth. It's the other usage that trips us up. Lie also means to recline: "Why don't you lie down and rest?" Lay requires an object: "Lay the book on the table." Lie is something you can do by yourself, but you need an object to lay.

It's more confusing in the past tense. The past tense of lie is--you guessed it--lay: "I lay down for an hour last night." And the past tense of lay is laid: "I laid the book on the table."

Bring vs. Take

Bring and take both describe transporting something or someone from one place to another, but the correct usage depends on the speaker's point of view. Somebody brings something to you, but you take it to somewhere else: "Bring me the mail, then take your shoes to your room."

Just remember, if the movement is toward you, use bring; if the movement is away from you, use take.

Ironic vs. Coincidental

A lot of people get this wrong. If you break your leg the day before a ski trip, that's not ironic--it's coincidental (and bad luck).

Ironic has several meanings, all of which include some type of reversal of what was expected. Verbal irony is when a person says one thing but clearly means another. Situational irony is when a result is the opposite of what was expected. O. Henry was a master of situational irony. In "The Gift of the Magi," Jim sells his watch to buy combs for his wife's hair, and she sells her hair to buy a chain for Jim's watch. Each character sold something precious to buy a gift for the other, but those gifts were intended for what the other person sold. That is true irony.

If you break your leg the day before a ski trip, that's coincidental. If you drive up to the mountains to ski, and there was more snow back at your house, that's ironic.

Imply vs. Infer

To imply means to suggest something without saying it outright. To infer means to draw a conclusion from what someone else implies. As a general rule, the speaker/writer implies, and the listener/reader infers.

Nauseous vs. Nauseated

Nauseous has been misused so often that the incorrect usage is accepted in some circles. Still, it's important to note the difference. Nauseous means causing nausea; nauseated means experiencing nausea.

So, if your circle includes ultra-particular grammar sticklers, never say "I'm nauseous" unless you want them to be snickering behind your back

Comprise vs. Compose

These are two of the most commonly misused words in the English language. Comprise means to include; compose means to make up.

It all comes down to parts versus the whole. When you use comprise, you put the whole first: "A soccer game comprises (includes) two halves." When you use compose, you put the pieces first: "Fifty states compose (make up) the United States of America."

Farther vs. Further

Farther refers to physical distance, while further describes the degree or extent of an action or situation. "I can't run any farther," but "I have nothing further to say."

If you can substitute "more" or "additional," use further.

Fewer vs. Less

Use fewer when you're referring to separate items that can be counted; use less when referring to a whole: "You have fewer dollars, but less money."

Bringing It All Together

English grammar can be tricky, and, a lot of times, the words that sound right are actually wrong.

With words such as those listed above, you just have to memorize the rules so that when you are about to use them, you'll catch yourself in the act and know for certain that you've written or said the right one.
