Scientists Have Observed Epigenetic Memories Being Passed Down For 14 Generations

SIGNE DEAN27 APRIL 2018

"The most important set of genetic instructions we all get comes from our DNA, passed down through generations. But the environment we live in can make genetic changes, too.

Last year, researchers discovered that these kinds of environmental genetic changes can be passed down for a whopping 14 generations in an animal – the largest span ever observed in a creature, in this case being a dynasty of C. elegans nematodes (roundworms).

To study how long the environment can leave a mark on genetic expression, a team led by scientists from the European Molecular Biology Organisation (EMBO) in Spain took genetically engineered nematode worms that carry a transgene for a fluorescent protein. When activated, this gene made the worms glow under ultraviolet light.

Then, they switched things up for the nematodes by changing the temperature of their containers. When the team kept nematodes at 20° Celsius (68° F), they measured low activity of the transgene - which meant the worms hardly glowed at all.

But by moving the worms to a warmer climate of 25° C (77° F), they suddenly lit up like little wormy Christmas trees, which meant the fluorescence gene had become much more active.

Their tropical vacation didn't last long, however. The worms were moved back to cooler temperatures to see what would happen to the activity of the fluorescence gene.

Surprisingly, they continued to glow brightly, suggesting they were retaining an 'environmental memory' of the warmer climate – and that the transgene was still highly active.

Furthermore, that memory was passed onto their offspring for seven brightly-glowing generations, none of whom had experienced the warmer temperatures. The baby worms inherited this epigenetic change through both eggs and sperm."

Septum stretching

So after discovering that the septum embellishment that I have been wanting for years, cannot be done with a 14 gauge tunnel - I'm going to be 100% real with you all, I was heated. very mad

I tried various ways to thread that 14 g tunnel, and even used a sewing needle threader, to no avail.
sigh

Whatever! Ugh!

I thought maybe I should stretch it up to a 12 gauge instead. That's plenty of room for a string of thread to slide through; however, it's not advised to stretch up more than one side at a time. See, me knowing how that could end with Saturn retrograde in my chart. I know better than to test the fates on that. It's not worth it.

What I wound up doing, is instead of going to a piercer, I used a pincher that I have in 14 gauge after watching a few YouTube video's of people doing theirs at home. It stung for about 20 minutes, but wasn't that bad. Today, it doesn't feel like I did anything to it at all. I'm wriggling my nose and it's not sore or bothered or anything.

That excites me, so I plan to give it a 30 days resting period before doing that 12 gauge stretch, which I most likely will get done at the piercing studio.

That ONE research paper that I never completed

I'm stoked to have found I still have all my sources for this information to continue to write it up, whenever I feel compelled to.

The concept of adding fluoride to drinking water for the purpose of mind control is said to have originated in the 1930s as a result of collaboration between German and Russian scientists. Sodium fluoride was originally used and was found to cause a ''mild lobotomy'' in people who consumed small quantities.

The effects were considered to be non-reversible after one year of continuous use of the tainted water. Nazi administrators added sodium fluoride to the water in concentration camps to make the prisoners docile and cooperative. Sodium fluoride (NaF) is used today in personal products like toothpaste.

To poison the water supply of an entire country with sodium fluoride would be expensive. However, it just so happens that there is a waste product created during the manufacture of phosphate fertilizers, fluorosilicic acid (H2SiF6), which is classified as hazardous waste and would be expensive to dispose of under EPA guidelines.

There is lots of this stuff available. This is the poison added to the public water supply in the United States and some other countries. It is actually economical for industry because they don't have to pay for hazardous waste disposal. They just pump it into the public water supply.

Vikings

This song makes me think of Ivar The Boneless. Dunno why. I don't care for that character at all.

I dig this song though:

It's been years, since I've been with . . .

. . .lemme just back-track and say this. I've been in a couple of relationships where I encouraged my partner to bring in another lady for us.

So, when it comes to sex, I've been with women before; however, I've never had a lady as a significant other. I can't call myself "Bi-curious" because the physical mystery has already been unraveled. Alas, there's still the emotional mystery, though.

I've never connected with a sister on an intimately emotional level, and I'm curious if it's possible for me to even go to that distance with a woman. I'm totally open, but simultaneously intimidated, because my concern is . . .well, what if we really dig each other, but there's no chemistry? Welp, I got another friend, but now we're both frustrated. laugh Well dayum.

I sure hope that isn't the case. I'm certain it's possible to fall for the right lady. I've just gotta sift through, to see who's compatible.

I feel compelled to open that possibility now, though.

It's 5:21 AM - I should be asleep . . .

. . .however, I felt compelled to watch the movie Atonement.

T'was my first time, watching the film, which I found to be heart-wrenchingly sad.

The beautiful thing about films, is when the writer's of the script and the actors are so
damn good at their performance, that it's convincing enough to have you despise certain
characters for their behavior. Makes me miss writing.

I'll be so happy when I can afford a new desktop, so I can complete the novel I started
back in 2010.

The one thing I truly enjoyed in this film, was the bassoon. Gawd, I f*cking love that
instrument. There's something so haunting and enchanting about that sound in a
love story. It's foreboding. It's like you can sense impending tragedy. Wasn't enough
to tip me off what was to come. crying

I felt it would be more like the movie The Piano, which has so much moody bassoon
compositions in it. Now, THAT is one of my favorite movies.

I adore Holly Hunter. She was fabulous in that movie, and so funny in Home For The
Holidays
; which is the best movie anyone from a dysfunctional family could appreciate.
It's not actually funny to be in one, and to experience the anguish of bullshit that those
who you grow to trust can do. No one on Earth can wound you deeper than family,
because they know all your weaknesses and buttons. However, that movie paints
a comical picture of a family riddled with issues, and people that genuinely hate
each other - well, at least one of them does. The writers and acting was brilliant
on that one too.

Eh, it's 5:34 now. I should go crawl in my hammock, and softly sway to sleeping
in my striped cocoon of dreams.

Woke up this morning, from a tripped out dream . . .

. . .this is not my first dream of the "Crocodile Hunter" - Steve Irwin; I've had others.

He never visited my dreamtime before, until after passing away. In the dream, he thought I was on Facebook and was wanting me to reach out to his family. Poor Steve. He don't know, I don't fux with FAKEbook.

Miss his crey a**. laugh

Every second of the night, I live another life

I'm this skinny girl age 16 with pale skin, and face length dark brown hair. I was kidnapped and brainwashed by some scientist in his mid 30's or early 40's, all I remember of what he looked like is he was maybe 5'10", medium build, short dark hair (can't tell if it was brown or black) with salt & pepper gray undertones. His hair was a bit longer in front of his face, it kind of hung nose length down in his face at times. He wore small round glasses.

Anyway, this scientist has robots and things to maintain his laboratory, which is set underground. His lab is adjacent to the house, however the lab is connected to an underground cavern. I remember small marshes, little puddles on the ground, and small Stalagmites.

I have no idea who I was or where I was from. The scientist told me he created me, and that I wasn't 'exactly' human. I believed him, but subconsciously part of me felt something was off and that things weren't right.

He kept me nude always, I guess for eye candy purposes, I assume this because he never touched me inappropriately nor did I ever see him touch himself. However, I do remember these latex nipple caps he put on me. Which was the only covering he kept on my body. Even though I was nude, the climate was always comfortable. I was never hot or cold, he made sure of that.

All I ever did was light labor. Whatever the robots didn't do. Nothing complicated. Mostly picking up misplaced items and putting them back, or tidying up, which the guy was pretty organized and not much of a slob, so I didn't spend very much time working. Mostly just walking around amazed at the things I saw in the lab and the cavern, and confused about who I was, and where I was really supposed to be. I also remember the cavern part of the lab had these blue and green flood lights, to keep from tripping I guess in the holes and puddles in the ground.

His colleagues would come and visit from time to time. So he made sure I would always hidden during these visitation times. There was one in particular who was always snooping around. He saw me twice. Once he caught me hiding and tried to coax me out, just before my creator walked in and caught him snooping.

The last time he caught me hiding in the cavern, I had ran under a dilapidated stairwell in the corner and hid myself beneath a sheet. This time, the other colleagues had my creator busy with something. The nosey colleague guy pulled me out from my hiding place and took me outside. He turned me over to a group of investigators, who returned me to a bunch of strangers that were supposed to be my family.
