Patriots: Mark Ponder and others...

Mark was given 63 months of prison for his actions in the January 6th insurrection on the Capitol. He's tied with Robert Scott Palmer who pleaded guilty to taking part in the siege.

What did they both have in common? Believing the election was stolen.

Smile Mark, you're on candid camera.

I've seen some videos of people who actually believe the event never took place!

I've seen some videos of people who actually believe the event never took place!

Some say it was Antifa. yawn
What do fanatical True Believers have to lose by denying Jan 6, or anything else? You can't change minds that don't exist, so better vote them down.
Another patriot, 72 year old Howard C. Richardson from Pennsylvania, was sentenced Friday to nearly four years in prison for beating a police officer with a Trump flag during the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.

Are you feeling the love here?
38 year old Kyle Young, more than seven years. Sentenced Sept. 27 in Washington, D.C. Young pleaded guilty in May to a single charge of assaulting, resisting or impeding a police officer.
Riley June Williams 23, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, involved in the theft of Pelosi's laptop.
She was sentenced on Thursday, March 23, 2023, to three years in prison for storming the U.S. Capitol, where she invaded then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office with other rioters.

I echo similar concerns about prison for the naive. Send them down and they will become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.

Imagine if there was a run on the banks, Trump returns to power, and these men are released and redefined as freedom fighters. And not just any freedom fighter, a freedom fighter who can beat a fully body armoured man to the ground. What does prison do apart from teach someone to rely on their own mettle instead of calling the police?
No doubt DT Potus 45 will generously compensate them for their loyal following and gross gullibility.
It's also the psychology of causing resentment for perceived unfairness and the creation of martyrs.

Perhaps rescuing stray animals and building kids' playgrounds might do something towards breaking the cycle of disempowerment, rather than maintain it.
By giving them the honour of donating money they can ill-afford to him? laugh

When Trump was claiming he was going to be arrested two days ago and calling for supporters to take the country back, he was also asking for as much as $3,300 from donors on his website.
I believe the condition of Trump's statement was "If I'm elected president"
And to be honest I'd forego community service, the shaming ritual, being branded the untermensch(criminal record)and anything that even comes close to wearing the yellow star of David. For your own sake I would be as magnanimous as possible.
I see no reason to converse with you...
Although I do realize that magnanimity doesn't really work like that. It will be more punitive precisely because the powers that be could be fired out of airlock at any moment.

Magnanimity is for winners a generosity of spirit that comes from success even if it would be wiser for failing elites to do this knowing the shoe could be on the other foot at any moment. And the shoe could be on the other foot at any moment. If you don't believe the shoe could be on the other foot at any moment then you need to pull your head out of the 1990s.
Not listening...blah blah blah
It's reported, Trump collected more than a million in campaign support after he cried about the possible indictment in Manhattan. It would appear they believe he is innocent.
Hold your horses, Ozzie.

I still feel sorry for you that you can't see Trump's dangerousness.

(but I do agree that politics, especially huge country, unwieldy politics, is corrupt by nature. I just don't agree that Trump is a healthy, incorrupt means of challenging the establishment. He's just more of the same and worse in many ways.)
I would love to discuss this with you over any beverage of our particular liking at any given moment. It certainly would be interesting to dive deeper into the materia and really test our own knowledge here and see if we could plow new ground of understanding together.
But not here. I am just applauding your willingness to debate in a sea of condemnation
towards the defined enemy: the bad boy billionaire of NYC. Like as in a ww1 entrenched war.

Jessica Watkins — a military veteran from Ohio who founded a militia in the area — was sentenced Friday to 8 and a half years in prison for her role in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack.
Pauline Bauer, 55, who went into the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6 riot and demanded that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi be brought out to the mob was sentenced to more than two years in prison Tuesday.

She was recorded shouting “bring her out here” and “we’re coming in if you don’t bring her out here”
Don't get too excited as Trump & DeSantis have made it very clear if they win office all those in jail because of January 6th will be pardoned
54 year old Audrey Southard-Rumsey, found guilty of seven charges, called prosecutors "liars." A judge sentenced her to six years in prison.

"Prosecutors say Southard-Rumsey was in the thick of the action on Jan. 6, posting selfies from the Capitol, calling for a revolution on social media, and using a flagpole to threaten a Capitol Police sergeant..."

Top story today: Trump has been informed he's the target in a probe of efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

Trump has responded via his social media site Truth by calling the prosecutor Jack Smith 'deranged' and angry he's got 4 days to appear before a Grand Jury.

Serious business now, no joke.
It looks like serious business now...according to CNN...

Side note...what is with Kennedy Jr. ?...is he into conspiracy theories?...concerning anti-vaccination...
I'm trying to avoid stories about RFK Jr.
He's made a few crazy statements lately.
Is it me, or...? laugh
The December date was intentional to give his attorneys ample time to prepare their defense. Certainly, they would be asking to forget the whole thing since he's most likely to be representing the Republican party in the 2024 election!
It captured my attention because it smacks of privilege and supremacy. I can't imagine it's routine for defendents to ask for trialls to be postponed in the order of years because they're too busy getting on with their lives.

From what I've read/seen, it's more common in the US for people to end up in prison for years awaiting trial because they can't afford to make bail. During that time, the chances are they will lose everything and have their lives ruined whether they're guilty, or not.

I also came across the answer to the question I asked you earlier - if Trump were to be elected for a second term, he could pardon himself before getting to trial.
That you guys can't trust Trump is not my fault,
but look in the rear view mirror of your own life and you might find out why.
Eventually.

Yes, there's talk about that now.
This movie is based on a few true stories about discrimination/hate...just remember who the original "freaks" were...

You're welcome...

You may remember "QAnon Shaman" Jacob Chansley who was one of the first charged in the January 6th insurrection. He was given a 41-month sentence, close to the lowest permitted by the criminal statute and far less than the 20-year maximum.

Tucker Carlson got involved and Jacob is singing a new tune. Recanting his remorse for participating in the Capitol riot and attempting to invalidate his guilty plea agreement.

A federal judge refused to toss Chansley's plea.

I understood that he was thought to be (diagnosed) mentally ill...so his words do not hold much weight...if he didn't show remorse at sentencing...it is possible that he could have gotten more time...Carlson should butt out...not helping this guy to move on...jmo...
He showed remorse at sentencing and after, Carlson convinced him to change his plea.

I'm not sure what motive Carlson had.
Peter Francis Stager, 44, of Conway, Arkansas, pleaded guilty in February to a felony charge of assaulting police with a dangerous weapon. He struck the Metropolitan Police Department officer with his flagpole. Sentenced Monday to more than four years in prison.

An older story about Kyle Fitzsimmons, convicted on 11 charges. Sentencing is delayed because there is a backlog of processing. He shows up at 56 seconds into the news story, clearly not a peaceful protest as some would want you want to believe.

The list keeps growing...

Yvonne St Cyr — who at her trial in March was found guilty of two felony counts of civil disorder, as well as several misdemeanors was sentenced to 2-1/2 years in prison.

In a Facebook livestream after her sentencing, St Cyr also said she hadn’t filed taxes since 2019, and she encouraged her followers not to pay their taxes.

"Keep your damn money," she said. "Stop giving it away."
