Ladies

Doing this could save you from a bad situation. The latch on your front door hooks into the metal piece on the door box and that is what is holding your door. The screws that come with the metal piece are very short and one kick to the door could break it easy. Replace those screws with long deck screws and your door will be a LOT more secure and harder to get through. I am doing this and encourage everyone to do this with your front and back doors.

Good to know...my apt. building is already like Fort Knox...fob is used mainly, and has an intercom to permit people in...the elevators only go where your floor is...and the building has lots of monitors/cameras...unlikely people would want to break in...

Of course that isn't 100% but it is a good deterrent...

Thanks track for another good idea. I have locks turn once and door is locked, twice and it automatically bolts top and bottom into concrete. Also a camera recording everything outside, amazing how once the camera and sign went up my evenings have been quieter and yes I've done a few self defence courses sadly to say they've come in handy. teddybear
Dead bolts and steel doors work well. So does that revolver pointed at their heads if they make it inside.
I do not need a gun but I do appreciate my residence now; It has a good security system now and it is safe...

My student days...I was speaking about...long ago...but I am sure people still do have safety issues...
