Nelson Mandela sentenced to life

During my lifetime I have dedicated myself to this struggle of the African people. I have fought against white domination, and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for and to achieve. But if needs be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die.”

His speech that day.

A true inspiration to humanity.

" I have a dream" speech which he delivered in Washington in August 1963 is one that should never be forgotten.

The whole world needs to dream more and die less.sigh
If only he tried fighting the 'system'.

The west encouraged his imprisonment and they used the SADF to fight a proxy war against Russia and all its conglomerates in the South West African Border wars.

It's still happening today, in the Ukraine and a host of other countries.professor
Morning Luke wave

Isn't that why he was sent to prison.dunno

Nelson Mandela was arrested in 1956 on treason charges against the then Government. Later he was acquitted of those charges. On 12 June 1964, Nelson Mandela was charged with a life sentence because he tried to sabotage South Africa's then Government
100% correct. The then government was pro USA and Mandela was sent to prison on their recommendation. The SA government was controlled by the west.
By the system I meant the Globalists, Rothschild, Soros, Gates (buying up global agriculturalfarmland) system that are causing wars in other countries to fulfill their own agenda.
@tiger are you perhaps confusing Martin Luther and Nelson Mandela ...? 'I have a dream' 1963 Martin Luther King
O.M.G. Yes I am. Believe it or not I have just had an accident and hit my head rather badly with a damaged shoulder also ,so that's my excuse.blushing

All joking aside both these men deserve tremendous credit for trying to change society's ideology on equality.
Due to comments back and forth on here I have been trying to keep a low profile, plus a nasty accident to myself unfortunately.

I responded as some people need to be remembered and others totally forgotten.

Nice chatting to youhug
I'm sincerely sorry to hear that you have been in an accident. Hope you are not hurt physically or mentally.
As you say some people need to be remembered for their actions and leadership. I was merely reminding you of what many people conveniently forget. I'm not a politician but as you, I like to look at a problem from all sides. Even if SA needs to choose between the much too liberal side of the western democracies and the stricter more conservative side of of the Russian policies, I can only say that my eyes were opened not too many years ago. Every country should have the basic right to choose for themselves who their friends will be and not be threatened and indirectly forced into what the west wants.
Now the UN is pushing the narrative that Putin shows he is a coward and he knows that no one wants him in their country that he is a pharia etc. This is absolutely not true, as Putin agreed not to personally come as it would put Ramaphosa (who is huge friends with putin) in a catch 22 situation where much promised aid to SA will be lost, and will be heavily penalized. All these aid promises were part of carrots dangling and now Ramaphosa chose the aid and still is able to keep his friendship with Putin safe and sound.
Without getting too political (as Luke here say the same)
I must remind everyone that Mandela and Gaddafi were friends.
They shared many a dream and vision for Africa.
If we celebrate one but condemn the other we may be
uninformed at best.

Recovering slowly thanks. Still under medical treatment and having to pursue a personal injury claim from a Company who have ignored the issue of responsibility and also is owned by a Billionaire.sigh

Trouble is with countries the inhabitants as such cannot make choices as to whom they want to befriend it's all down to Government. Watching Wimbledon over the past 2 weeks and seeing the crowds divided was an eye opener in itself though personally I'm glad the Spaniard beat Djokovicwink

Nobody forces any country to join N.A.T.O but many have especially of late .
It seems I am a terrible explainer.

You say: Nobody forces any country to join N.A.T.O but many have especially of late .
Ever heard of Subtle Force?

If you are my neighbor in a very bad crime ridden area and I keep telling you that when, not if, your house gets attacked, then only I can save you, over and over with practical examples of other houses getting attacked, then even the staunchest anti violence neighbor (country) will be swayed to take up the offer and join the neighborhood watch or NATO in the case of a country. This is Subtle force and not many can refuse the offer during the present state of affairs in Europe. Zelensky was picked by the west to become the president of Ukraine by the west. He was a struggling actor but evolved into a billionaire overnight with the west's assistance. He has prime property all over the world and he even bought his parents a mansion in Israel.
Not bad for a struggling actor.
In reality he does not care a hoot for all the Ukrainians that are being slaughtered presently. This is facts cos anyone that knows just a tiny bit about military will tell you that Ukraine has absolutely ZERO chance of winning the war against Russia.
Luke, all true. It's also a fact that he is not alone over there in Kiev.
Has to do a balance act between the needs of his own nearest 200 friends (in power)
and Washingtons demands. Not a very easy spot to find yourself in.
I would not change places with him for all the money in swiss banks combined lol.
Just though I'd mention it.

Not at all. I probably don't perceive the world the same as you not having been in the Military or living in a such a diverse country.handshake

Zelensky is probably the poor relation in comparison to Putin .dunno

Going back in history ,whether one agrees with Carl Von Clausewitz’s supposition that the centre of gravity of any alliance is “unity formed by common interests” or not, no one can deny that if the members are of one mind, an alliance exists and in some cases is totally necessary.

handshake
Nice speech. wave
