Young man gives up first-class seat to an elderly lady after hearing her story
When 88-year-old retired nurse Violet boarded a plane following a visit to see her daughter, she was completely unaware that she was about to get one of the most magical experiences of her life.
She had hit it off with young man Jack and the two had chatted before boarding the plane, during which Violet had revealed it was her dream to travel at the front of the plane.
Unbeknown to her Jack and his family were traveling in first class and what he did when he boarded the plane has attracted the praise of people around the world.
When Violet got on the plane she was informed by the flight attendant that she was to swap seats with a passenger in first class allowing Violet to travel home in style and fulfill her dream.
“Of the hundreds of flights I’ve operated, I’ve had the pleasure of looking after footballers, supermodels, and some Hollywood movie stars but let me tell you about my two favorite passengers EVER!
“Jack and Violet. Jack and his family purchased seats In our upper-class cabin for a flight home, but when he got onboard, Jack went and found violet in the economy and swapped seats with her.
‘The kindness of his own heart
“He then sat on the row of seats directly next to the economy toilets and never made a peep or asked for anything the rest of the flight. No fuss, no attention, literally did it out of the kindness of his own heart, no one asked him to .
“Violet is 88 years old and has been a nurse. She travels to New York to see her daughter but hasn’t been able to for a while because of a knee replacement. Her dream has always been to sit at the front, and Jack made that come true.
“You should of seen her face when I tucked her in her bed after supper. She said her daughter won’t believe her and wanted a ‘selfie’ to prove it.”

“I have no words right now that can express how I am feeling at this moment. I’m in complete shock… The last couple weeks have literally been hell filled with so many tears, anger, confusion and heart ache. Today I got the shock of my life…
As some of you may know my son William, who is a lawn mowing, yard cleaning, money making machine. Well my son had a job today that he had to go do and so I allowed him to go assuming it was like any other time. Well this time was different. Very different.
William came home and said, ‘Mom I bought you a car’
I of course laughed and told him ‘Ya, right!’
He said, ‘No mom I’m so serious I bought you a car. Come on we have to go.’
I’m at this point confused and skeptical and I said, ‘Go where?’
He said, ‘With this lady.’
And much to my surprise I go in my front yard and OMG there is a woman standing there and as William said she was giving us a ride.
William jumps in the car so I’m like ok?? This is some kind of joke right. No one speaks really…. So… as I’m still thinking at this point still a joke. We pull up to this house and William says, ‘Mom that’s your car.’
I completely lost it. I started balling my eyes out… I am speechless my 13-year-old son bought me a car.
He did some work for this woman and that was his payment that he worked out with her. And here I thought it was a joke… Nope I was handed the keys and paperwork to the car and I’m freaking out but so in shock like OMG this is happening right now. So, we got into the car it started right up and off we went.
I am so proud of my son. He is such a good kid. He may have his days but OMG what 13-year-old kid do you know that buys his mom a car… William I love you son and thank you. You have such a big heart and I love you.”
Two nice stories.thumbs up wave

I do not know how to delete your comment. This is only my second try at blogging.....

I put a new car on hold...decided to pay off my cruise and some fun time instead...

My pay from my job gets put aside to save for extras...

I will have enough money saved, sometime middle of next year...to pay for my car. I don’t like to have any debt...

It will be a SUV..that gets good gas mileage..

Hope you are still enjoying your new car...thumbs up

4 months into the 'new' car it's no longer new.
Compared to the Toyota Corolla, it's heavier with a longer wheelbase so the ride is nicer.
Less interior road noise and comfortable seating.
Horrible gas mileage in city, but I beat the EPA ratings on the highway.
Probably due to the additional horsepower... it has changed my driving habits.

thumbs up
There is a reason why the lovely Di left here sigh

But anyways, two nice reads thumbs up
Awesome wow

She had a heart of gold...

And, she posted threads in the forums that were at least fun.
Had a great timehug

I saw people on the plane home that were happy and full of goodwill. I think it's more prevalent than what the media want others to believe.
Good to hear you had a great time...

I agree that the media wants us to believe the bad things...

I just got off the phone with my son...He has his flight booked home for Thanksgiving..yay heart wings
Great that your son will visit you for Thanksgiving!

Seeing friends and family that live far away are such wonderful moments.
I love random acts of kindness so much.
I always thought I would have all three of my children close to me...My son has always loved the state of Washington (he had high school and college friends who moved there) and he liked the cooler weather there.

We used to meet for breakfast most Wednesdays...I miss that too.

My granddaughter has informed me, that the Christmas tree will be standing in the living room for everyone to decorate...

Stay safe in the storm.
Decent people still exist
Maybe you can visit him in Washington for Christmas?

My uncle was just like you. He bought a house in Clearwater and thought his four kids would live in the area. None of them ever did but he was happy that they were happy.

Good luck with the storm too.
I was born and raised in Sarasota...and, I will die here...

Both my daughters live here too...Only my son moved to Washington...

I was lucky to get the week of Thanksgiving off to spend time with him..

I am planning to go visit him sometime in March or April.

Hopefully, it will not be too cold then..My old body can’t take the cold..

Maybe, I will get lucky and it will snow just a little bit..
She was a breath of fresh air heart1

Anyways, back to AWESOME..... or not confused
but no matter ...
I have my view on it bowing angel

Keeping with the heroic this is old but still relevant.

Criminal activity ( You can read the lengthy list)
Other activities

In 2001, Read was featured in an advertisement on behalf of the Pedestrian Council of Australia warning of the dangers of drunk driving.

In 2005, Read embarked on a tour of Australia performing a series of shows titled I'm Innocent with Mark "Jacko" Jackson (Read's manager) and later toured Sydney in a stage show with a new co-star, former detective Roger "The Dodger" Rogerson and throughout Australia with comedian and friend Doug Chappel. Read even made regular guest appearance on Doug Chappel's Melbourne International Comedy Festival show in 2008 called 'Comics Live in your Lounge' where the two of them told stories on stage together.

In 2006, Read appeared in another commercial speaking out against domestic violence. On 13 March 2006, he released a rap album titled Interview with a Madman. He also appeared in the 2002 Australian comedy Trojan Warrior. Read, persuaded by Andrew Roper, his manager, to allow use of his name to a wine, "Chopper Red" and later to a beer called "Chopper Heavy". The beer is produced in Rutherglen, Victoria, a town associated with Australia's most notorious outlaw, Ned Kelly. In 2007, despite his apparent successes, he was forced to declare bankruptcy, which included an $80,000 credit card debt and $140,000 in private loans to 12 people. Roper was later replaced by Andrew Parisi as manager.

He made the headlines again, on 15 December 2008, after being questioned by police about an alleged incident in Johnson Street, Collingwood. Read was attacked by a tomahawk-wielding man he said he had never met before. He said: "I ran to the panelbeater's and grabbed a pipe. I said, 'Come here now' and he jumped into a car and pissed off." Read suffered a minor injury to his arm after being hit with the blunt end of the tomahawk. Read was questioned by detectives at Richmond police station before being released without charge. His alleged attacker has not been found.
Author
Read was an author of crime novels, selling more than 500,000 copies of his works. His first book, Chopper: From the Inside, was collected from letters he sent while incarcerated in Melbourne's Pentridge Prison and published in 1991. It contains tales and anecdotes of his criminal and prison exploits. Further biographical releases followed in a similar vein. With the advent of Chopper 5: Pulp Faction, Read began writing fictional tales based on his experiences of criminal life. Attempts were made to ban a children's book written by Read titled Hooky the Cripple. In later years he made recordings of voice narratives which also sold well.
( NOW FOR THE HEROISM)
Health issues and death

Read contracted hepatitis C during his time in prison, possibly as a result of using shared razor blades. In March 2008 he revealed he only had two to five years to live and required a liver transplant. However, he refused to agree to the procedure, stating that while a transplant would save him, he did not want one when an organ could be provided to someone else.29] In April 2012, he was diagnosed with liver cancer. He underwent surgery in July 2012 to remove tumours from his liver and in late September 2013 he was admitted to Melbourne Private Hospital in failing health. He died of the illness on 9 October 2013, aged 58, in Parkville, Victoria at Royal Melbourne Hospital.
