A dream came true for me today.

Ever since I moved to my home 10 years ago I have dreamed of having a horse on my land and being able to go riding on the mountains all around me.

Today that dream came true. I have been working so hard to clear part of my land and fence it in. I don't have it fenced yet, but my neighbor allowed me to bring my dad's horse up and put it in his pasture. I will hopefully start getting my fence up within the next couple of weeks.

I spent the evening brushing on "Little Mare" and loving her. Finally I broke down and threw the saddle on her. The next thing I know I'm riding through my yard on a horse.....something I had been dreaming of doing for over 10 years.

I was so happy to finally be in the saddle and free to roam the mountain. I rode up on top of the mountain and found some other trails that I can take when I'm more prepared. It was so beautiful and peaceful.

This Sunday, if the weather is nice, my neighbor and I are going to go back up on the mountain and clear some of the trails so that we can invite more people to come up and ride with us....including my dad.

It took a long time and a lot of hard work to get things in motion, but my dream of owning and caring for a horse where I live at has come true.
