Vanity Fair and City III (52)

Like many other so-called big cities, the visible things in this city are always beautiful, while the invisible things are dirty, ugly, dark and degenerate.

Bad luck. This city must go crazy, or, its people go crazy.

I lost something recently. Days ago, when I was back, to my big surprise, one of my aloes had been stole by somebody. Who would steal an aloe? It was just a weak, sick aloe growing in some infertile, dry soil in a cheap flowerpot. What could the thief do with it?!

And I lost my bank card and once I thought I lost my identity card too. But luckily, I found my identity card. I had been ready for the worst situation: I lost all the money. And I comforted myself: “Even though I lost all of my money, yet I am still alive and healthy, then I can start from scratch to earn it again.”

And thank heaven. The money is still there. People will be afraid of the ghost once they meet one of them. So I transfer much of my money to another bankbook without bank card, which is much safer. I am a miser.

When the 12th worker in Foxconn jumped off the building, we had been discussing how long it took to see the 13th worker jump. We are not cold-blooded murderesses, but when jumping off the building or self-murder has become a fashion, we can’t help wondering what will happen if the situation continues like this. And when we were still talking, the 13th worker has jumped. It is not comfortable to hear that a young life perish in this abnormal way.

Ivy’s boyfriend works in another big company, and according to her boyfriend, there have been totally 37 workers jumped off the building till 2008. But the company hides the news quite well, so outsides not many people know it.

Shan Mu Training Centre is another hot topic these days. Some of those successful businessmen, like Shanmu, are just wolves that wear a sheep’s skin. But when one little rabbit stands out for justice, the wolves will be doomed to collapse, and more and more little rabbits will stands out for their justice.

My eyeglasses near fell off when these news sprang out from the screen. Like many other so-called big cities, the visible things are always beautiful, while the invisible things are dirty, ugly, dark and degenerate.

And my weak, sick, poor aloe that grows in some infertile, dry soil in a cheap flowerpot! It is worthless for the thief, but it is valuable for me. I pulled it out from the soil at my home’s garden, then brought it to Guangzhou and planted it with Guangzhou’s soil. And when I come to this city, I brought it here. It has been following me all these years! And now, it has gone.
