Remembering 9/11

Can you believe it will be 9 years on Saturday the day all hell broke loose? Where American lives had changed. Fear errupted in our vains, our blood ran cold.

Everytime 9/11 comes I just remember being awoke at 6am from a friend, saying a plane had hit the world trade center. I turned on my TV set, just staring in disbelief.

It was crazy, I worked for the airlines, and the phone lines were jammed with callers because all flights came to a hault for several days. We had several people cancel, for fear of boarding an airplane ever again. It really hurt the airline industry.

The days following 9/11 I parked up near the airport, were we had a clear view of the terminal, and it was errie seeing all the planes in idle position. All lined up in a row, just waiting to roar down the runway and sail into the wild blue yonder.

So if you get a chance, and you happen to see a solider walking by, say hello, and thank him. Or better yet, say a little prayer for all our military. We are free today because of their efforts to protect us and serve our country.

Peace be with us today and always.

Makis, and Becks:

Thanks for your comments. Yes, I agree to the fact even overseas in the foreign country's it is sad. I really hate this thing called WAR. Their is just so much DEATH and DESTRUCTION. I see the news, and I read the papers, and sometimes I just want to block it from my mind all together.

The images of 9/11 and beyond will haunt me for the rest of my days.

The innocent as well as perhaps the not so innocent perished from this tradgedy. I hate seeing the graphic images. It brings tears to my eyes.

People are murdered everyday, children are taken by complete strangers, so not only do we have 9/11 to worry about, we think about other things.

But as 9/11 approaches, it gives us our day to greive, and recognize the ones who reached out to make a difference. I lost a dear friend who was on one of the United flights that struck the twin towers, so I kind of take it a little personally, and to the fact I lost my job over such an act.

But all I can do is pray. Pray that God heals all the hurts of the wounded, and heals the ones of those who lost their loved ones since this event in history.
If I strike a nerve and upset and anger anyone, it's not on purpose. 9/11 is just something that touched me deeply.

Do not be angry with me. I did nothing wrong. I am only human, such as the one whom runs our country.

I would love it if we could all get along. I am a God fearing person, one who leads a life of simplicity. One whom attends services on a weekly basis. I just wish it could be simpler.

So lets just give peace a chance.
I raise a wine to your last sentence
A wine to you as well becks. I just want us all to get along, no matter how far apart we are, we just need to live in peace and harmony.

Life is short, and we need to make the best out of it, and if that means praying well then I'm on my knees. (or at least 1 knee.) I have a bad one. Or if it means sending a card to the orphaned children, or helping with a donation, or perhaps just lighting a candle for those lives lost then so be it. I will do my part, even if it's something small.

I remember that day so clearly. Someone at work said the Twin Towers have collapsed. When I got home and switched on the TV it was constant replay. Mr Blair was visibly shaken and that night the skies were free of planes over London. In the early hours I watched Mr Bush's speech and like most followed the events that unfolded. Some terrible things occurred for some time after like the poor woman who was pregnant and living with her partner who died. Her future In Laws shunned her so she could not get any compensation. There were a few cases like that which is the last thing they needed when grieving. The heros were all those wonderful people who tried to help and the emergency crew dog that became an icon. Whether military efforts have been successful is another matter as so many have lost their lives in the conflict but success I agree can be measured in different ways.
yeah... I remembered that day, too... it was one of my tense day of my existence!!!
