Dust In The Wind
Have you ever had one of those days when a song and its lyrics stayed with you for the entire day? Of course you have. Very few of us haven't. Today it was the 1977 hit by Kansas: Dust In The Wind which has resurfaced recently in the 2003 movie Old School among other places. I have heard the song a million times and sung along with every word but for some reason I listened in a new and novel way this time. How precious every fleeting moment is in our life and while the song itself speaks of finality it also brings a deep and renewed appreciation for the gifts that today brings. Optimism abounds when life is approached with a sense of thankfulness for all that the day has given.Dust in the wind
all we are is dust in the wind
Dust in the wind
everything is dust in the wind
So what song has filled your life lately and what have you heard in a different way this time that you haven't heard in the past???? As for me; I am heading in to grab my guitar

Simon an Garfunkle , bridge over toubled waters
Mariah Carrie, You'll always be my baby
After a drink to loosen up, it's one of my favourite ones I belt out at Karaoke. Never been pelted yet..so I guess I don't make that much of a mess out of it!
I'm hooked on this one right now: Maybe I, Maybe You - The Scorpions
Maybe I, maybe you
Can make a change to the world
We're reaching out for a soul
That's kind of lost in the dark
Maybe I, maybe you
Can find the key to the stars
To catch the spirit of hope
To save one hopeless heart
You look up to the sky
With all those questions in mind
All you need is to hear
The voice of your heart
In a world full of pain
Someone's calling your name
Why don't we make if true
Maybe I, maybe you
Maybe I, maybe you
Are just dreaming sometimes
But the world would be cold
Without dreamers Ilke you
Maybe I, maybe you
Are just soldiers of love
Born to carry the flame
Bringin' light to the dark
You look up to the sky
With all those questions in mind
All you need is to hear
The voice of your heart
In a world full of pain
Someone's calling your name
Why don't we make if true
Maybe I, maybe you

(Ben Folds Beautiful Song)
The Luckiest
I don't get many things right the first time
In fact, I am told that a lot
Now I know all the wrong turns, the stumbles and falls
Brought me here
And where was I before the day
That I first saw your lovely face?
Now I see it everyday
And I know
That I am
I am
I am
The luckiest
What if I'd been born fifty years before you
In a house on a street where you lived?
Maybe I'd be outside as you passed on your bike
Would I know?
And in a white sea of eyes
I see one pair that I recognize
And I know
That I am
I am
I am
The luckiest
I love you more than I have ever found a way to say to you
Next door there's an old man who lived to his nineties
And one day passed away in his sleep
And his wife; she stayed for a couple of days
And passed away
I'm sorry, I know that's a strange way to tell you that I know we belong
That I know
That I am
I am
I am
The luckies
