I work mostly late evening hours so I suffer sometimes from insomnia..They have things on the market like "excedrin PM" that seems to work for me..You dont need to have a headache to take it and it has something in it that helps you get drowsy..I dont like to take those all the time though so they also have a natural tea called "sleepy time" in the grocery store..I forgot the name of the tea brand though..Could look in your local store and find out.. I hope this helps you..
If you want something natural like an herb and 'not' drugs, try Valerian, Passion Flower, Scull Cap, or even a combination of all three. I haven't ever had a sleeping pill before, but when my Aunt takes one, she is out like a light and.........it kind of scared me gift
I agree with the tea and herbs. I wouldn't take prescription drugs unless you really have to. There's also Nytol that you can get at the pharmacy for the odd night you are having trouble.

Another thing to think about is Melatonin. Because you are young it may not be a problem as it normally affects older people as you have less of it as you age but you never know. Melatonin levels can also be affected by those working the night shift and you can also be affected if there's too much light in your room. So if there's a night light in the hallway, shut your bedroom door so your room is nice and dark and make sure no light is glaring in through your window. Also even a slight glare off of your digital alarm clock can affect your melatonin levels so I would turn your clock around so the light isn't glaring at you.

You can buy Melatonin at the health food store but I would speak to your doctor first.

It would also help if you went to bed and got up at the same time everyday, had no naps, and learn to deal with stress if it's a problem for you. Meditation would be a good idea or relaxation CD's. Some would take a hot bath, maybe warm milk (yuck!). Also alcohol can affect your sleep.

Good luck!
Also it's a good idea not to have caffeine 4 hours before bed. Exercise is good but allow enough time to wind down before bedtime.

It's good to try and get your sleep problems corrected as long term sleep problems lead to premature aging. blues
ya or drinking cafeen soft drinks like pepsi cola or colas.
i used to drink them during work to keep me alert but found out i couldnt sleep all night after it.. lol
sleepy time tea by celstial seasons is suppose to be good for helping with sleep naturally..also the excedrin pm is good too.
both non adictive and do the job.
i think im going to check those herbs out, usually i smoke a joint but i have been getting drug tested with my promotion at work so i been dry :(.
Hi, is there something particular on your mind?
You should go for a walk before bedtime. Also, if there is stuff going through your mind, get some B1 tablets and take one before going to sleep
a small glass of cranberry juice
