Getting a bit breezy out there!!!!....

Wow!! It's getting a bit windy out there today!! It's probably gusting around force 9-10 just now, and is set to get up to 75mph tonight!! Just in the last hour it's ripped two large branches off the big oak tree at the bottom of the garden...just a few feet from my sheds!! uh oh Have just been out in the garden to tie everything down that's moveable!! uh oh

Actually....I love it when it's like this!! grin grin yay yay

I agree A-HA is probebly some of the best Norwegian bands ever, who became big outside Norway! But I am much more of a rocker myself, and was playing in small bands when they came trough. So we "boys"back then, thought A-HA was just fore girls... grin
"Stormbringer" is an old Deep Purple hit. Culture, as I like to call it...!devil grin
Maybe Lynard Skynards Call Me The Breeze, is a good one when the weather is breeze!cool

omg the mighty oak actually got completely tore down yay that's intense wow i'd want to go out their a little to feel it grin not the oak the wind laugh lucky it sounds like the trees aren't rite next to your house .angel a full grown oak tree would demolish it.doh enjoy your storm lucky.cheering laugh
juneu. sorry! grin Here where I live there arn`t oaks, but we have some heavy storms once in a while. I vitnessed a semi-trailer lifted and flipped ower once. It was fully loaded with salomon, and weight about twenty-five tonns. Quite a sight! grin laugh
Oh yeah...have been out to investigate already! laugh Feel a bit sad really, as it is probably a 300-400 year old tree!

If the one came down at the bottom of my garden, then it may or may not demolish the east side of the house! I am not sure if it would quite reach the house or not, but it would be VERY close!

uh oh hmmm daydream maybe I ought to get off the computer and go and sit in the west side of the house!!!! uh oh The tree has already been ripped to sheds on my side! There are branches all over the ground!

Will go out tomorrow with a tape measure so see if I can estimate the age nerd

Wow! That must have been a sight!! It never fails to amaze me what the invisible force of the wind can do!! Am wishing right now that I could get to the coast...love to see the big waves.
The waves are nice to watch from the shore, but when you are out at sea even a big ship becomes small. I`ve been there and it`s quite scary...wow grin we almoust stayed out there... angel laugh
I`t became so quiet... Maybe the house blow away...confused grin
Nope....still here! laugh Gale still raging though, and set to continue until 11pm, and return on Wednesday!

Yeah...I can imagine nothing more frightening than being out on a ship in this weather! Sailed to Norway once years ago and that was pretty rough, but I loved it!! roll eyes doh laugh Everything was flying off all the table tops and nobody could stand up! Also a few of the ferry trips to the Scottish islands have been "interesting" grin yay yay, but it's never quite got to the point of being frightening...just exciting really. Those boats ploughing the Norwegian Sea and the Atlantic coast of Scotland go out in most weathers anyway! bowing bowing

Sitting here looking out of my window at all the mangled and dangling branches of that oak tree, hanging over my two wee sheds!!! uh oh
i lv the program the deadliest catch on discovery channel. that berrin sea in alaska is fierce them crab fishing in the worst weather . i've been on lake michigan boating a couple times i got worried we weren't going to make it back to harbor.uh oh the water can be tricky sometimes.grin that sig johannson captain of the northwestern is norwegian i noticed alot of fishermen are from norway . i knew you could read how old a tree is by counting the rings on the bottom inside. i never thought to measure one. lol that's pretty old 400yrs old if you measure it tell me.applause my favorite tree is the willow tree. their shady n peaceful.angel sometimes i lv peace to.laugh peace

Tornados, earthquake, vulcanos, sunamies... hmmmm.... dunno
I know.... it is dreadful...poor people sad flower

It does seem like the world's weather system has gone crazy these days doesn't it. Nature v Humans and Nature ALWAYS wins! sigh
Tornadows only happen where there are no hills , and they are always on flat land , so leave the flat land to the farmers and go and live where it is hilly , and if not , then build yourself a hil or two

or build your houses out of steel

wave wave
Oh well...I'm learning stuff tonight! Never heard of anything called Nature v Humans confused

LOVE the sound of Flying Wild Alaska though!!!! applause applause Unfortunately I can't afford the Sky tv service, so I don't get the Discovery Channel. The Discovery Channel series' are sometimes shown though, so I shall keep a beady eye out for it thumbs up
