Acting your age

Out until 9am this morning yawn(happy new year by the way)I'm really feeling my age. While dancing last night I had the realization I was the oldest person in the room and although this doesn't particularly worry me it did raise the questions, "At what point do you start acting your age, if at all?" And,"Is there any real reason to consider this question?" - if your having fun just do it.

When did you either last feel your age, or, thought you weren't acting your age.playball sheep crazy reindeer

Happy New Year Hammock.. applause Age is just a number, what counts is how you feel inside.. cheers A bit of hair of the dig I take it.. comfort Well, sometimes the best cure is just to have another dram, or two, or three, or four.. ect, etc.. laugh cheers cool
Hammockman, Happy New Year!...wave

Nothing to worry, age is just a number they say. Just do whatever makes you happy as long as you don't hurt anybody. thumbs up
tonight i felt my age too, we were playing games and i was the oldest in the group. I could not run fast enough, or crawl that fast. I was holding the team back. I have aching body for few days of games we play in my small town. Few more nights of games and we are done. We the community play different kinds of games to win prizes. I won once, we rumbled, trying to push out the other team mate out of a circle in the ice. I am soo out of shape. lol
Hi ya Yash and Shay.

Yes, I agree that age is just a number and should have little effect on WHAT we want to do. Perhaps we should however be aware of HOW we do it.

Yash, if I even see a Johnnie Walker label I will barf

I only act my age when visiting my doctor.
At all other times I remain firmly fixed in delusion and denial.

HNY to all ....wine cheers
Hey Jana, thanks for dropping by.

I've always considered myself an old soul with juvenile inclinations, these more youthful, exuberant displays surfacing at often embarrassing moments.

I have never felt the sensation of being older or younger, always age has seemed to me to be an eternal constant. This "time" thing being a bit of a man made illusion, but that's another topic. conversing
Yes Mib, we must have come very close to meeting last night, that was certainly my intention.

RDM,HNY. Delight in your delusion as I'm sure you do.
Springlark, I think you may be an old soul, very wise in your contributions as you are.
well i love playing pranks and hate to be pranked so, ha has to be very skillful indeedlaugh
he not ha im so ha ha harolling on the floor laughing
Act your age ! Oh Christ ! I hope this isn't a prerequisite for the comming year . .wow . . I will say this about maturity, you do get more with age . Being perfectly honest I have acted like a 12 or 13 year old most of my life but now that I'm older I act like a more mature 15 year old . . . rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing
Frank, it seems you are well on the way to a life of eternal youth. You should be feeling about twenty when you reach a hundred.laugh

Hey Sur, happy new year!!
There are some I wish would blabber less and others I would prefer to blabber more. You my friend are firmly rooted in the latter. cheers

And your kind invitation has not been forgotten, good Sur, and I may well remind you of it regularly.laugh
a couple of the local bar owners are ccustomers of mine. they frequently invite me to an evening out at their establishment, but i respectfully decline for the very same reasonings as your blog. my nieces and nephews hang out there, as do some of the children i used to babysit, and my son;s friends.. haha. i am not sure this is the company for which i want to share a beer under the circumstances.. haha.
i do particpate in the breakfasts and lucheons though as a return of business etiquette.
HMwave thumbs up I tend to act the age of the group, I'm interacting with i.e. if my 9 year daughter & friends are roller skating or flying kites - I'm in the thick with them, doing same. Likewise if my two sons (24 & 29)are jamming music with their friends; I'm inclined to bring out my own guitar & render some 60's/70's hits; however if they start with the drinks - I'll keep my distance & a beady eye on them! head banger cool beer handshake
I'm 70 and I still go dancing. I don't do sports anymore, but I do walking and jogging exercises.

I think you should do what you want to if you can still do it. Aga should be no barrier!
gasjockey, I think I am the company my nieces and nephews would prefer not to have on their nights out.

G'day El, It seems you have a chameleonesque way about you which should put you on most invitation lists.

Hi Ed, I think I remember you telling me about your dancing at one time, I hope I can still cut a rug for a few more years to come.
there's a saying your only as old as the woman your feeling, not my view mind you, but jesus how i wish, keep dancing hammockman
