Driven or Carefree Toward the Future
Are you a driven person, striving toward goals at the speed of light, focusing on the future and how much you can accomplish between now and then?Or would say you are more of a "in the moment" type of a person, prefering to enjoy the now, having a more relaxed approach to what may lie down the path, enjoying the scenery as you go?
I suspect the majority of people are a combination of both.
I'm about as driven as a deflated tire tube floating on a windless lake.

The next year carryover what have not done, that is if age as not overun me.
but I enjoy the journey
Me i take the days how they are now, i learn not make big plans but i do have a shedule. I take the days how they come with good and bad as i do not know what the day of tomorrow can bring.
like jck dawson says in titanic ..i have a few sheets of paper the wind in my hair ...and take each day as it comes ....anyway he now is at the bottom of the alantic well in the movie anyway,,oh no i am on the road of nonsence again ....please point me towards reality
Laz - Please don't take this the wrong way, but your style is how I imagine most people go about their time - got things they want to do but also able to relax and adjust when needed.
market - Continue to create your own realities and fly off on your tangents as it gives us lazy lot something to watch.
I used to play the part of the driven type ... didn't want to be but felt that was the show I needed to put on to have a successful career.
My natural character is to feel useful and that things I've done mattered. I'm closer to the more relaxed approach and do want to appreciate the current moment but my primary focus is always on how my efforts today contribute to the happiness and success of tomorrow.
(I enjoy blogs that reveal things about ourselves. I think friendships are built this way. )
Hi Richard - I'm not sure it really matters whether we are driven or not as long as we remain loyal to our natural condition and not engage in any act just to appease others. I find most of us start out with the wrong map and after hitting a few dead ends realize we can only get to be where we want to be by throwing away any pre-written programming and engage in a good honest hunt to find our direction. Jolly good to see you.
