Me , then and now.
I am not sure if any of you have gone through this phase. When I was younger I wasn't a stylish person. I would say plain and simple. I did not put on make-up except for the lipstick. This was because I didn't know how to "paint" my face. Didn't want to look like a kindergarten(the colourful kindergarten).Never used moisturiser or toner or cleanser, whatever that the skin needed. I did not need those as my skin wasn't that bad. No dangling earrings. I was shy to wear that. Simply put, I was a plain Jane. Never get a second look.
But this past 3 years, I noticed that whatever I did not dare to do then, I'm doing now.
This is because as I grew older, the skin is not elastic anymore and I've freckles due to the hot weather. Hair's greying. Fingernails not healthy looking etc etc etc.
I'm now using skin products and also go for facial. Never thought of that when I was younger. Fingernails and toenails painted. Started to wear costume jewelry and of course dangling earrings. As for make-up, it's only lipstick and compact powder. I still don't "paint" my face.
I'm also braver and more outgoing. As we grow older , we are more mature and see life differently .

Never thought I would do that. hahahha. I'm actually enjoy my life this past few years. Last year was the best year as I got to visit few countries.
