What's your ideal lifestyle?
Eventually I'd like to lead a very simple existence being as self sustaining as possible - big vegetable garden, chickens, making my own bread, in a quiet, picturesque bush location. My cottage would be a mud brick or straw bale structure that is built from recycled building materials and its power supplied from the sun or river, taking me "off the grid" maaan. (That's hippie speak)
Something like this. What is your ideal lifestyle?

I did the exterior with a rough looking swipe of my trowel to create a stucco look that was pretty different. i had a happy client on that job!
I love my kids with my whole heart and soul, but I wished I had the same lifestyle you have because I would really be a wanderer. I'm happy, though, because God blessed me with some great off-spring that I am truly proud of.
Spring - I've seen some great log cabins and understand t5he attraction completely.
Sewwt- yours would be my second option for sure.
I live in a converted barn we have a veggie garden and eat a lot of wild game, but its all part of my upbringing.I can hunt, skin my own animals and cook them, also fish and go gigging. It is a wonderful life but i am a hillbilly from the Ozarks and love it...
You are still thinking about those coconut bras right....
dynamic precision/B&W800 lol, so i must build a windmill to provide the el.
I've thinking about this for long time but I might couldn't describe it well here. Too long and too detail.
Btw, First pic looks so Indonesian. The second pic looks like ants' house.
I like the simple things in life with a few extra's
win the European lotto - spend time between New-York city & Dublin. Work a three day week to keep the brain active & spend four months of the year in the South of Italy with the love of my life
now that's a very simple life & a dream
My ideal life style is very similar to yours... living off the grid, being self sustainable.
My place would look similar to this:
You can place them almost anywhere.
My dream is to start a small hostel in the middle of nowhere, in New Zealand or somewhere in Asia
Still some work to do first though
I like the pictures, remind me of the house of my grandfather, me i was born in the country side and the vacations i speend with them when i was just a child was the best of my life. I like rustic a lot on a house and combine with old style make it is better.
wish you a lovely Wendsday!
my ideal lifestyle...
I would like to work 3 days out of home and 2 days from home, to have free weeekends, cosy apartment with terrace in the city and small house somewhere in a warm place to stay during winters. I would like to have time for myself to share among the most important people in my life,.. my work and my hobby ( traveling)- to have opportunity to travel, discover new places and have somebody- the most important - to share with experiences and impressions....
The country (and rustic living) is a beautiful place to visit! Not my first choice though... Ideally... a comfortable home in the suburbs... to be able to visit the (not too big) city ... to be close to the country and farms (and strawberry picking might come early this year ).
Being on the grid in fine but I'll have solar on the roof in order to contribute my share to it.
A cottage on a lake sounds awesome too!
am a little old-fashioned when it comes to this sort of topic as I feel that eventually this lifestyle that we supposedy dreaming of having is more about a place where we feel we belong.
I believe in the saying of 'home is where the heart is' and with that said, probably at this stage of my life I would prefer to have a nice place in a suburb, not too far from the city for work and socializing. But who knows, I might enjoy the thought of living somewhere in Boston one day
moreover, it would be perfect to have someone to come home too - wherever this home of mine will be
I imagined somehow close to the beach or lake with private deck like this to relax
