Another angel
Last night....Heaven got another angel
Another angel got her wings.
She had a bright future ahead of her. She was engaged to get married. She was going to school to become a chef. At christmas she lost her brother. Six months later she was diagnosed with cancer . She went though chemo & radiation. It didn't look good for her so she went to palliative care. But after 3 months she got somewhat better. So they tranfered her to another unit. That's where I worked with her.
I remember the first day working with her she had a smile that lit up a room. She was angry for being there. I don't blame her I probably would be so myself. But we had girl to girl talks about life & such. She couldn't wait to leave & be home. Especially to her fiancee.
She didn't like the fact she was the youngest one there....I could see her point. I told her to think of it this way....its like living with your grandparents. She gave me this look....& then she giggled.
Her fiancee was there almost everyday...even then her family. She asked for him everyday even when he was there already or hadn't showed up yet. She didn't ask for her mother. He did love her to the end. I admire him for doing so. She appreciated him in mamy ways that he wasn't even aware of. I'm sure he wanted to do more for her but couldn't .
At halloween he would decorate her room & buy her chocolate. He even did that for christmas & valentines day as well. But for easter he got her a big stuffed bunny. By easter she was too weak too notice. He always tried to make her room feel like home.
When she first came he would help her out with her care when he could. Sometimes he would carry her out of her wheelchair & put her in bed just so he could cuddle with her. She had the biggest grin on her face. He didn't care how she looked he just wanted to be with her. And she was happy because he was there by her side.
Even tho they didn't get to marry or start a family as she talked about it as hoped she would be able to go home some day. She is home but not the home she wanted. I'm glad she experienced love before she went to heaven. She was only 26 years of age & he was too. She had it going on but unfortunately cancer cut her life short.

Beautiful and very sad story
It was sad day for her family & her fiancee. Sadly she was alone when she passed. But I was there around the time she passed. I saw her take her last breaths. It was hard as it was 15mins before my shift ended. It hit me hard & when I got home I cried...even the next day.
But she's in a better place now. Where she's not in pain. May she rest in peace. She was too young to leave but she left a good impression on me in her own special way.
She reminded me & I saw in person...that love is possible. It doesn't matter when or how...it just happens. I see older couples in the facility I work...& I find it heart warming to see them be there for each other. Its even sweeter to see it in a young couple. He could of walked away like some would do but he didn't . He stayed to the end.
