My Religious Heart

My religion is my heart!
I was not raised religious.
So I'm not religious!

Growing up my parents didn't raise me to be religious. Both my parents do have different religious backgrounds tho. But I've been to church as a child while growing up. Mostly through friends. I may know some things about different religions, but not everything. I'm sure there are people who are in the same boat.

Personally I have nothing against people who are religious. There is so much we don't know....even if we think we know it all But what I don't like is when some people feel that their religion is better than the rest. There is no ideal relgion....they all do believe in a god. Nothing wrong with that. We all do have a right to believe in something.

We can definately see the good, the bad, & the ugly in any religion/culture. We were all raised differently & with different beliefs. Some were raised to believe certain things,,,,whether they were "sheltered" or had limited sources, or were "told" certain things. So we go out in the real world....& realize there's so much to learn.

But some will, stay set in their ways or learn to accept differences amongst others....& their beliefs. At times we may not agree & clash. We judge others through misunderstandings & what we've learned. Before we judge we should seek to understand. We should look for opportunities to understand one another. We live in a time where knowledge is at our fingertips.

I know religion can be a touchy subject. Some take it personally. For some people, religion is close to their heart. Some may get offended if someone talks down or makes assumptions about a particular religion. If that happens, make a point or defend, but don't take on personal attack. Take the opportunity to educate.

On this site there are many people from around the world with different religious backgrounds & different cultures & beliefs....& such. Why don't we take an opportunity to expand our knowledge, seek understanding & stop the bickering & attacks. Its bad enough in the outside world....do we need to do so here?

There are billions of people on this earth at this moment. We all have 3 things in common....#1. We are born! #2. We live! #3. We pass on!. The only difference is how we live & what we believe in. We all have an opportunity to make a difference....big or small.

PS...just a thought since all religions have a god....have you ever thought there's only 1 god & he created these different religions to see if we all get along, even amongst our differences. Appaerntly till this day we haven't still. Look at all the wars (& lives lost) over the years & now...its about relgion & power.....the power to control.
